Not because they were drafted and they *have* to, but because they know that they should. I love my country. I might not always love the government running it, but this land, and its people are absolutely amazing.

Coffey is amazing. He went and played this song at every funeral (that they wanted him to) of the troops that we lost during the Afghanistan withdrawal. He loves the troops.

Thank you for that song. While playing it I named 10 close family members that have been or are presently in the military. That song was several minutes but my dad did 30 years with 20 combat parachutes jumps in the pacific. Good video. I'm glad the video also includes some family picture as they are in the military too.

How does a soldier know if he's risking his life for the flag, or if the war he's being sent to fight is actually about seizing oilfields or other resources to enrich corporations? This song suggests that soldiers should not ask these questions and blindly trust the politicians sending them to fight.

It's fucking terrible lol. I love the US, and Louisiana where I live, but not unconditionally or uncritically. We are not the best. I see about equal positives and negatives of many, if not most countries. I also don't like pop country. The old stuff and the more alternative or lesser known stuff is good.
