Want to camp in a tent but you're feeling a little nervous, don't worry we'll help ease your mind with this step-by-step video..!

My husband & I started out tent camping during Covid. Well, I started camping. He tried to get me to camp for 30 yrs and I was like...nope. I started watching KZbin and discovered glamping. He let me get whatever I thought I needed to be comfortable. I purchased a tent, a raised bed from the jump. I also bought the puzzle mat pieces from the auto section to put in the bottom of the tent. I got a couple of the wooden magazine boxes, which we used as bins for the propane bottles, our light, citronella candles, etc. Once setup, I used the wooden bins as night stands inside the tent. I had the shower tent with the toilet inside. I fell so in love with clamping that the next year we upgraded to a couples coach travel trailer. We are out as much as possible. Really enjoyed your vlog!!!!

Sounds like you found your groove camping, happy trails. The bin as a nightstand is a good idea.! Thanks for watching..!!

Another tip for starting out on a budget: try hitting thrift stores, garage sales, and online market places. Trust me when I say, people are constantly upgrading, so there are deals out there, and make sure to watch for sales.

For the portable potty, I got a pop up which takes 15 seconds to set up. I use a different style portable collapsible potty with a lid that looks like an ottoman. Also, instead of hauling heavy litter or other bulky stuff, I use the nontoxic biodegrable powder that turns waste into gel and eliminates odor. Bottom line, there are so many styles and choices to consider what works best for you. I'm getting ready for my first camping trip this fall with my dog. I'll be getting a ppop up tent and canopy and setting up in my backyard and we'll be doing trial runs out there to make sure he can do the camping thing.

Nice video. I am a 59 year old solo tent camper who started last year. I'm completely hooked. I was a little nervous at first because no one at the campground looked like me. But I didn't let that stop me. One tip is if you're just starting out, camp close to home or near someone you know. On my first camping trip, I was at a campground 3 miles from my friend's house. I also made sure i had the full hookup site like you said. However, I also do primitive camping.

I followed that same advice on my first camping trip. The campground was only about 20 minutes from my home. I told my daughter, if anything goes awry, we can just pack up and go home. Everything went great and we had a blast even though it rained overnight. It was the best sleep I'd had in months. Happy Camping to you!

New subbie here. I started tent camping in April and taking my 2nd trip this month or Sept. I went with my daughter and we had a really good time. I agree with you about camping neighbors. We were next to two families who drove from S.C. They invited us over to make s'mores and sit around the fire. I've got to invest in the bathroom tent and portable toilet. I bought a 4-person tent and also invested in the 6-8 person tent because my son will join us on the next trip. My oldest brother and SIL have been camping for about 30 years, and they live out west. Best believe I was bugging him every other day before my trip. We had everything covered, and I felt like a pro setting up.😂 Can't wait to see more of your journey ❤

Awesome, thanks for the show & tell. Helped us a lot! We have just about everything, just trying to find the right tent for 2-4 for our space & trying to figure out how we can use our sleep machines, any advice if we don’t have the power bank as of yet? We thought, extension cord with power strip for the power outlet at site??? You’re right, we should have our tent already too, just see soooo many. Gotta hold up in high wind & rain. 👍🏼❣️❣️❣️
@WhereverWeLand7 ай бұрын
Might be a good idea to visit a spotting store to look at different tents before purchasing. The shape of the tent can help in windy situations. However, most tents come with guidelines. I would definitely recommend an extension cord and surge protector. We use a surge protector in our tent, and it works well. Thanks for watching and commenting

My best camping hack is this. I bought a cheap felt lined plastic table cloth at Walmart. I then cut it in half. I then cut one of the halves in half. All full length cuts. I then put the larger half over the table and with some duct tape, I taped it all the way around both ends of table with the tape. I use the smaller pieces to do the same on the benches. They NEVER fly away regardless of wind and are easy to keep clean and easy to remove. I throw used tape away and fold pieces into my dry food bin. I’ve been using the same cloth for 3 or 4 years now. Every other table cover option I have tried just won’t stay on the table.

I don't know if anyone mentioned the weather... but you wanna be mindful of the weather. Rain, snow, extreme wind. Ensure you have extra tarps and ropes to cover your tent if there is rain in the forecast. Also, you will want to secure your tent to a strong tree if there are strong winds. You definitely don't want your tent to collapse like it did when I didn't secure my tent 😬 welp, there's my two cent😁

Make sure there are no bears or wild cats in area if you don't have gun or rifle E

Where we camp, they are there. They typically do not come near people, but it's best to be prepared and take safety precautions.

Nice camping tips. I'm not into the religious stuff though. Camping is always different with a feminine touch.

@@WhereverWeLand I've been to a lot of places since I started. Just went to the Grand Canyon East at Desert View Campground.

@WhereverWeLand this pass visit was my 4th time there. I've covered all 4 sides now. North, South, West and now the East. North was the best side. But 1st time camping inside the Canyon. I hit the Mighty 5 of Utahs National Parks last year 2023
