Hi guys nice camping gear. Me as a camper in tent in temperature 10 , 20 also 30 degrees. I would not recommend air mattress, the best thing you can get is cot to sleep on it , very comfortable,I put underneath Sherpa, wool blankets , my site never have water or electricity, and I sleep all night nice and cozy. I have a buddy heater propane ., last at less with one bottle 4 hrs I use till I am getting ready to go to sleep after a turn off. I have carbon monoxide alarm. Hand warmer last up to 18 hrs , I put mine in bottom from my feet inside the sleeping bag is 20 degrees, also I bring a Sherpa blanket, I don’t sleep with to much clothes a hat and suck and regular PJs . Use hand warmer and make sure you cover your head and feet. Believe you going to sleep like when you didn’t have debt 🤣 My first time was a mess ,after many year I been learning you don’t need a lot to feel comfortable at the time you go to sleep. Cot is the best , my tent don’t condense I bring very little inside. My portable toilet one chair and to watch movies my iPad. Also get a Jackery awesome I have 2 a fridge the I use only in summer … Food inside the car keep cold 🥶 I love camping ⛺️ Been in all season . A matter a fact my thanksgiving is already separated for camping… Can’t wait… Enjoy , protein keep you warm and water keep you hydrated… May God bless🙏

Hey there! We learned a lot from our winter camping trip. We found out that putting a barrier under and on top of the air mattress helps keep the cold air from getting to us while we sleep. If we were to do it again, we'd definitely get a cot. The hand warmer in the sleeping bag was a great tip, and we also realized that a hat is a must. We thought about using propane heaters, but we kept changing our minds because of safety concerns and the cost of fuel. I'm glad to hear that you use a carbon monoxide detector; that's really important. I hope others read your comment because it's full of great advice for anyone who wants to try winter camping. We really enjoy camping in the cold too; there's just something about it that feels good. Thanks for watching and giving us feedback! May God bless you, your family, and all your loved ones. ❤️
@dianavi3846Ай бұрын
@ Thank for your respond. Well, I had been putting barriers underneath the air mattress like rug etc , I start with twin, full ,queen, lower and higher, but not luck. For summer I use the big tent and fans all over ,in winter I use the smaller tent, reason ! is easy. Always let air flows to avoid condensation. Also with propane heater is you have it use it till you ready to go to sleep. I don’t use mine when I’m sleeping., just precaution even having the carbon monoxide detector. I live near a campground or campsite I spend the whole summer camping of grid … I have my own shower,pop up tent for bathroom,work like a charm. But in winter ! I won’t live my tent, I bring my potty inside. Easy! I have so much gear for camping , Amazon is become making money with my purchases LOL …😂 well after all the most important here is safety. Be aware is so much bad people out there. God takes care of all of to us … camping is fun , is restful till you start picking up ..😂 But I love nature , I love God creation…I feel blessed when I can do this kind of things, a lot to enjoy and met people. May God bless us.🙏🏻😊 Here where I am I can’t do campfire 🔥 high risk of fire prohibit completely..😔 But I still enjoy…

This was filmed in North Carolina. This is our first year camping, and we love it as well. I know it gets cold in Michigan. Do you and your husband camp in the colder months?
@marthabsmith1306 Жыл бұрын
@@WhereverWeLand No, we don't go camping in the fall, but we went camping mid spring and it was just as cold. We had an electric heater but with the mesh over the tent it still wasn't as warm as we'd have liked. We did have blankets though. I told my husband that next year we should put moving blankets over the tent between the mesh and the rain fly. Maybe that will keep some of the heat in. Just a 🤔

@@Garryck-1 Sleep system... Like what would you suggest. I haven't a clue after my bright idea. 🤔😂
@Garryck-1 Жыл бұрын
@@marthabsmith1306 - Hmm.. I can't really speak to your exact situation (I live in southern Australia.. it can get cold here, but not quite like what parts of the US experience), But I can give some guidelines. For example.. some sleeping bag temperature ratings can be quite meaningless. Only buy a bag that uses the ISO or EN standardised rating system. Learn what the different terms such as "comfort rating" and "lower limit rating" actually mean. Learn what the physiological differences between men and women are, when it comes to comfort. Be aware that the ratings actually only apply to a person who is wearing thermal underwear, and is using an insulated sleeping pad underneath their sleeping bag. (Always use an insulated sleeping pad - the ground can draw a lot of heat out of your body, and because the air-trapping fibres in the underside of your sleeping bag are being crushed by your body, your bag doesn't provide much insulation underneath you.) Insulated pads have different ratings too. These are known as 'r' values.. r2 - r4, for instance, are really only suitable for above-freezing temps. If you sleep out in freezing temps, go for an even higher r rating. The REI website has some excellent articles on temperature ratings. I highly recommend reading them. Know that sleeping bag liners are useful for more than just keeping your bag clean. They can add several additional degrees of warmth to a sleeping bag (and they too, come in a variety of warmth factors). A sleeping bag should be a reasonably snug fit. Too loose a bag means that there is a lot of air trapped inside the bag, which your body needs to heat up, before you will feel warm. Less air means the trapped air will warm up faster, and need less of your body heat to keep it warm through the night. Learn how to use the hood and neck/shoulder closure systems on your bag properly. This will prevent a lot of heat loss on cold nights. It should be possible for the hood to be closed right up until there is only a small hole a couple of inches across, for you to breathe through. If you use a pillow, it should be outside the hood, not inside it. Having it inside makes it hard to close the hood properly, and also means there is too much air volume inside the hood, that then needs warming. Lightweight quilt blankets are available to use over the top of a sleeping bag, if even more warmth is needed. Any time your sleeping bags are not in use, they should be removed from their stuff-sack and hung up in a closet/wardrobe. Over time, the air-trapping fibres inside the bag become damaged, meaning they slowly become less able to keep you warm. Crushing the fibres into a stuff-sack causes damage to them as well. Giving the bag a good shake (to loosen up the fibres) then hanging it up whenever not in use helps prolong the life of the bag. If you have an expensive down-filled bag (the warmest kind) this is especially important. Thermal underwear for sleeping should be made of merino wool, as it holds heat even if it becomes damp, as should your sleeping socks. (Yes, you should keep a pair of warm socks just for sleeping.. I keep mine in the hood of my sleeping bag, so I never forget them, and always know where they are.) There's nothing better than putting on a pair of nice clean dry socks just before getting into your sleeping bag! Consider having a merino wool sleeping cap (beanie/toque) for your head, as well. If you have the right gear, you won't need a heater in your tent at all, even in sub-freezing temperatures.
