Here in Dominican Republic we call it 'Pan con aguacate" which translates to bread with avocado. It's a very common dish, i ate it since i was a kid (i'm 30). We Dominicans eat avocado with almost everything. We call it the "poor's man meat" since it's very cheap here (less than 1 dollar). I recommend adding a few drops of lemon juice.

around 2 years ago i had my first avocado on toast with egg, ever since, i became literally addicted to avocado, would have 1 to 2 a day, my fav combo is avocado and salt with cream cheese on toast, and optionally with more sharp Cheddar, some sort of meat like thin sliced hotdog or salami, or egg. but just salt and cream cheese is best and most simple.

Mashed avocado is the best when you add in very thinly sliced garlic, a bit of extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil and a pinch of fresh chives (and/or fresh basil). You have to try it.... Garlic is the secret ingredient hahaha

Being “against” trends is actually a good thing most of the time. Trends take your focus away from being authentic, and they result in hive mind mentality, which is very rarely a good thing. Only me and my mum seem to like this, she introduced me to it, I have no idea where she got this from, but the flavour pairs perfectly with avocado and its one of my favourite sandwiches of all time. white bread, butter the bottom slice, avocado, sliced or mashed, I usually slice it because its easier, and marie rose sauce on the avocado. People look at me weird when I talk about this sandwich but its just great and I don't know why. The creamy tang from the sauce and the tenderness of the avocado, and the salt from the butter just all taste so fucking good in this sandwich. Try it if you can so I know me and my mother aren't crazy.

I'm the same, anything too trendy just ends up unappealing to me. But, I did try avocado toast a while back and got hooked. My go to avocado toast: Toasted white buttered bread, mashed avocado with a teaspoon of mayo and salt (makes it extra creamy), topped with a sunny side up egg, drizzled with sriracha, mayo and fried onions **chef's kiss**
