This was really awesome Penny. I think you found a really good vegan place...I agree that really good vegan food is very expensive. I think it is very interesting that you preferred the vegan Italian sausage to the real thing. Italian sausage can be greasy and they can put a lot of good spice and stuff in the vegan sausage. I think you have also liked the veggie burgers you have had. Thanks Penny.

Yes that sausage sandwich wasn't greasy and that is part of the reason I really liked it. We were shocked of how yummy those sandwiches were. I'm shocked dad was loving it too. lol

Hi Penny & Dad- This was a really GREAT review. I’ve tried a few vegan things here & there, but sometimes the texture is gross & doesn’t taste that great. This restaurant sounds like they definitely delivered! That looks like some tasty food. Glad you & dad enjoyed your lunch today. Kudos to Carla for suggesting this! Yes Penny, Trader Joe’s offers a good selection of vegan foods. Check their frozen section. They do have vegan mayo, chicken less orange chicken, meatballs, vegan buffalo dip, other dips & desserts! My thoughts have always been identical to yours. Years ago I did try Veggie Burgers & I did like them but always burped afterwards.Being a meat & potatoes girl have never wanted anything artificial or not 100% the real thing. Kroger has had several Vegan items on Clearance or mark downs. I hesitated on anything with fake meat but did purchase 2 Rice & Veggie meals I plan to add real chicken to. Have not tried them yet. Interesting review.

Very interesting review. I’m not vegan, I love all meats, fish, and seafood. I’m not opposed to eating vegan food once in a while and those items looked good. I wouldn’t pay those prices though. I think vegan food has come a long way. 10 years ago that stuff would have been awful I think. George is such a good sport to try new things. Love you both!

I am not vegan but love the beyond burger. This is plant based but tastes like a real hamburger.

Plant based sausage I guarantee is not healthier than the real thing, however, make sure sausage doesn’t hv added processed preservatives. Clean organic, unprocessed food no matter vegetable or animal is healthiest. It is amazing how they can get vegan food to taste like meat. Not all vegan food is overly processed though too. 😊

I can sympathize with price too. If I had a restaurant I would not charge extra for healthier options. I don’t believe in making sick and poor of our society paying more. I would up charge less healthy options to offset healthy food offerings.

Hello George and Penny 😊. The only thing about vegan is if your allergic to certain nuts and grains you have to be careful. Otherwise it's pretty good except for their cheese's. Some have absolutely no taste. My friend used to work at a vegan restaurant and they had slavery good food. I don't care for the jackfruit cause it's flavorless and hard to chew. I love vegan food, but the downside is that vegan food is high in fiber which causes your body to have more bowel movements than normal. I care about you guys, so I figured I'd mention that.

I love vegan products. However, $17 is steep for what they are giving you. I would bet the sausage they gave you was made by Impossible or Beyond. Great tasting sausage but you can buy it in the supermarket and make a better (or at least just as good) sandwich at home for considerably less. Restaurants generally don't make crinkle cut fries on site so they are giving you frozen French fries with a bought in sausage. Premium prices for a less than premium product.
