Now I'm having serious Sapporo flashbacks. When we're there at the end of February, there were still remnants of the sculpture, but barely. Afterwards, we went to the Sapporo Clock Tower, then to the Factory Mall, not so sure of the name. Then WALK all the way to Sapporo Beer Factory, not knowing where we are right then was the BUS STAND to bring us there. Going back, we took that bus, as I can't walk anymore. The next day, we went to a seafood market and had a breakfast. After a little going around, we took the LOAD TRAIN, as told by the hotel staff. Expecting it to be a large train, it turns out its a ROAD TRAIN. 😁 We took a short ride on our way to Mt. Moiwa. We spend the whole afternoon till nighttime to see the city skyline at night. I could go on and on, which mean we did enjoy our trip to Sapporo. One thing I missed though is that I never went to Hokkaido University, which was parallel to our way all along taking that LOAD/ROAD TRAIN. Also Otaru, which was due to time constraints. Well, maybe next time. I'll make sure of that. ☺️

Nice video, Rion. I was in Sapporo at the same time but didn't bump into you. One thing about the xylophone at the end. I am not sure if you noticed. The lighting of the xylophone is connected to the lighting of the Sapporo TV Tower. It was quite impressive watching the TV Tower lighting up to the tune of the xylophone.

Hey RIon, you are a great inspiration to me. As a simple guy from the middle of the United States, your videos give me a lot of happiness and enjoyment until I can, one day, actually get to Japan. I hope I don't have to wait for too long, but as I said, your videos are amazing until that time comes. When I finally do get to Japan, I will be semi-familiar with many places and how to conduct myself and how to get around Japan thanks to you and your videos. Keep it up, I really hope you find success with whatever you do. You are a unique gem in this world, Rion.

Interesting. They moved the food area to under the tower. It used to be more widespread around the middle of Odori Park and towards the tower. The year I went there was also a little ski jump and pros doing demos on it. The underground streets and walkways were awesome. I never expected that visiting the city.

It looks like they really scaled down the Sapporo Snow Festival for 2023 and it seems you didn't go to Susukino site? I went in 2020 which seemed to have more sculptures, a ski jump, skating ring, and food stalls along Odori park etc. The Tsudome site was also open back then. I told myself I would go back as soon as the Snow Fest happens again, but couldn't make it this year. I really hope the 2024 edition returns to its former glory!

@Sakura_gaoo
@Sakura_gaoo Жыл бұрын
I don't know if I'm right, and will of course let Rion correct me or/and bring his pov, but I think it's way easier to manage filming when you're not eating alone, maybe less "obvious" or "suspicious" too for the local restaurant owners. I also remember some times when Shinichi san told the place they were wasn't really "camera friendly", so Satoshi san had to be very discreet while filming during their meal.. Rion couldn't definitely do as well, he'd be spotted instantly 😂 TabiEats also has a bigger channel (only speaking of their main one) than Rion's, so maybe having 500k+ followers can be another good "argument" for them, to use for promoting these places ? It's only my thought tho, I'd be curious to know about yours 🙂 Let's keep eating!

I have been saying this for a long time. My wife used to like his channel but it seems that he just does not want to spend the money his subscribers give him. He is just using the bare minimum not because he can not afford it, but simply because he wants to get paid for doing things for way less, which is why his channel will never grow. I hope he changes this trajectory or else he is going to wash out, it happens to a lot of youtubers. I have been to Hokkaido & I did not cheat myself by eating $5 ramen soups or worse, drink a can beer in my hotel room alone, just wow! This is why the channel is not good anymore, but the people can't handle a constructive criticism.

Hi Rion, what an experience - so many various snow sculptures very much interesting to be watched during the day but even more at night with light and sound effects - something really special. I once visited an ice sculpture park in Switzerland but it cannot be compared with this huge exhibition in no way. Thanks so much for showing us the observatory views of the snow festival - the best way to experience its greatness. How brave you were to use the staircase while leaving the place. I have no problems with high and shaky places but I could simpatize with you especially under such a cold and slippery conditions. So sad you were not able to enjoy your beloved sea food due to the crowded places and even some rude people. By the way you should not hesitate to wear glasses when your eyes got tired of you contact lenses because you look even more sofisticated with them. GAAAOOO!!!

Thank you for sharing the snow festival with us😄It is ok not to film the seafood meal, no loss really with that type of attitude from the waitress. Glad you enjoy the ramen😉 Perhaps next time go during early autumn where isn't much crowd. Great that you challenge yourself down those stairs despite having chill and coping with fear👏Great video. Looking forward more. 💪

Man, you went to Hokkaido and tried Ramen?There are so many great restaurants to eat in Hokkaido that are way better than ramen, you can do better, your followers deserve better. The excuse you provided is lame, I follow this channel to see new places not to see or hear you complain in a hotel room while drinking a beer alone, so sad.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately I am super disappointed with this presentation. Food is the most fun time to see … especially I am Japanese living in other country . Even Rion had sour moment with restaurant side , this is really not acceptable to show niboshi ramen which he can eat anywhere. Hokkaido has a lot of great stuff. Even local sushi train is super great quality . Soup curry and jingisukan are also Hokkaido’s special food. Rion, I know this is not my business but I think you should do more research before you introduce the place.

Unless you’re paying Rion to create this content, you’re watching the efforts of a real person who has good days and bad days. Rion is one of the most upbeat people here on YT but he’s sharing an experience he had. If you want perfect fake experiences then maybe you’re not the right fit for this community. He’s not Rick Steves and you’re not on a paid tour. Take a chill pill and be more mindful of your vibes and how you treat another human. And if this video didn’t meet your expectations, then move on to the next one but be gracious. My goodness. Your entitlement is ridiculous.

Hi bhai just a question, i read some articles and also saw videos about that cheating between partners is very normalised in Japan, what are your thoughts about this?
