Hi Meg, I am glad that I found your video. I am visiting the Hokkaido area from Tokyo/Nagoya in October. I wondered if you had any recommendations for ryoukans? I planned to stay and a nicer one for the experience for about 2 days but want to go to a more affordable hotel for the rest of my trip in Hokkaido. Any suggestions? The final question I have is, if I am only going to Hokkaido area then planning to go back to Tokyo, is a JR Pass Still advisable to purchase? Thank you for your information.
