I used to spend weekends in Intramuros, Fort Santiago and Luneta Park when i was still a student decades and decades ago. My father took hia Bachelors Degree at the Lyceum of the Philippines in the 60's while working as a bus conductor. 😊

@@K-FREEDMcarthur stay in Manila hotel in 1935 to 1941 then escape to Corregidor and to Australia Manila hotel was occupied by Japanese in January 1942 to 1945 the hotel was badly damage in 1945.

Thank you so much for visiting Intramuros. I worked in Intramuros for 35 years in one of the famous universities. I really love this place in Manila coz of its historical contributions to our country.Thank you also for the Intramuros Administration for keeping peaceful for our tourist.👍😁💕

The old house you entered was not built in the 16th century but only built in 1981 it was a project of the Intramuros Administration headed by the Former First Lady Imelda Marcos and Governor Jaime Laya of Central Bank of The Philippines to showcase the Philippines heritage houses built in the 16th century up to the 19th century 10 old houses were bought from nearby Binondo district to de assemble and rebuilt in Intramuros the 8 proposed periodical house will housed commercial establishment this area is called Plaza San Luis Complex a commercial center built in a colonial style architecture it has a House Museum depicting the Life style of the Spanish era Philippines it's the house you entered antique were brought in to gave the house a collonial antiquated feel much of the Intramuros were destroyed during the second world war only second to Warsaw as the most devastated city Intramuros is still in the process of restoration all old style houses were rebuilt or Spanish inspired architecture only the San Agustin Church is the Original that survived the War making it the oldest structure in the Philippines and the oldest Catholic church in South East Asia
