We really do have very intense and quite often extremely toxic education environments. I came to do my undergrad uni in the UK, and a friend of mine was doing his teacher training at the time in a school. I was shocked to learn that on test papers he’d only put a “ . “ where the answers were wrong as opposed to a “ X “ cause it would lower the student’s moral.

well a lot of students sucide due to the pressue of jee , advancd and neet , the the 2nd toughest exam in the world

Not all of them... But the pressure in schools, and especially in colleges is high due to intense education system Also entrance exams' pressure due to very low number of vacant seats in institutions which are actually good. And the competition is pretty high.

In India going to cinema is like an event with whole family and friends. So with all people and food it becomes costly and people expect full on entertainment in these films. They want all kind of emotions and want full entertainment for their money's worth. Thats why we have this "Masala" Genre(Mixed genre). And also the long runtime. They want full enjoyment with whole family and friends.

Loved the reaction guys. Finally. Did it. I'd suggest PK next. Same actor - director duo. One suggestion : The editing (I know its to avoid copyright etc) but it could've included some major scenes, like Rancho teaching scene, millimeter - Centimeter meeting scene and many such. please do watch DRISHYAM (2013 MALAYALAM).. this movie was remade to almost all indian languages and even chinese and now korean. it was a phenomenon in india. bt when you decide to watch please do watch the original version which is MALAYALAM language, dont fall for hindi or tamil, pleasae respect the original version. It will also introduce you to malayalam cinema which is called as the arhouse of indian cinema and to the actor Mohanlal who is recognised as one of the finest actors in whole of india.

Also always distinguish between the hindi language film industry (Bollywood) and regional films. Films like 3 Idiots & Tumbbad are Bollywood and Bahubali, KGF etc are regional films. Fyi regional films mostly tend to be overhyped cringe/trash... I would recommend discovering more Hindi cinema instead ❤

Most western viewers of Indian cinema tend to think that the movies are overlong. It’s probably important to understand the context to understand why they are longer than what those audiences are used to. You were halfway there in your assessment regarding the cinematic experience. It’s not that the industry doesn’t have the skill to tighten the films up. The boom in Indian cinema came along during an extended period of poverty created by the asset stripping of British colonialism. Need for inexpensive entertainment led to the more meandering nature of Indian movies. It is simply a case of value for money. I hope that helps in your desire to watch and appreciation of future selections.
