Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

This was the golden age of sitcoms and comedy shows. This paired with THE SIMPSONS and IN LIVIN COLOR was the best lineup on FOX. I miss when people weren't made of glass, the world wasn't run by feelings, when TV characters could away with the things we wish we could. Al may not have been the happiest husband and father, but he was a man's man. He provided, didnt fet respect, had hopes and dreams, still had his high school record of four touchdowns in a single game, would inact justice on those who hurt his family even when they didnt respect him, he represented a lot of the struggles our parents may have gone through andnour generstion does today. These shows might have seemed offensive, but they spoke out a lot of societies' bigger issues: low paying jobs, the nuclear family falling apart, the rise in obesity, etc. This is how comedy should be, helping us cope with life's ups and downs by making fun of the issues.

I think anyone who has ever watched TV has a show that they grew up viewing, and connected with more than any of the others, and MWC was that show for me. One of the original titles for this show before it aired, was "Not the Cosby's", which was rather fitting, as that was the other family show I had around the same time. While being young and brown in South Central, the Cosby show had it's moments, but was just a foreign concept of the daily grind. MWC was how my family was, how we interacted, how we constantly ripped on one another, me and my sister were a few years apart like Kelly and Bud. It was just so much more relatable at the time, and to this day, this is my #1 sitcom, and I grew up with the best TV ever offered. And while Al was savage AF to the bigger ladies, they all mostly gave as good as they got, so it was all in good fun. We could all laugh at each other, and most importantly at ourselves(never take yourself to seriously), something which we could all use more of.

Peggy was also in Sons of Anarchy. There's a crossover meme where as her character on Sons of Anarchy she tells her son that Al is his real father. It's funny.

Hey ya'll, I just found your channel and two points: #1, You come off as a genuine, accepting, and loving couple #2, You seem like really cool, down-to-earth people with the propensity to understand and appreciate that life is what you make it. These videos are a testament to that. And lastly, I don't know you personally, but take care and love ya'll.

Fox's Sunday night lineups were the best back in the late 80s - early 90s. Simpsons, Married w/ Children, 21 Jump Street, America's Most Wanted, Gary Shandling & Tracy Ullman shows, etc. They were the first major to have their news at 10pm as opposed to the rest at 11pm. And when there was something newsworthy that all of the other networks were carrying, Fox would just put out a 2-3 hour Cops marathon. They're totally mainstream now, but back then they were pretty cutting edge for television.

Fun Fact: Marcy was the one who wrote most of the jokes. Ed O'Neal/Al Bundy was the perfect person to deliver those lines 😊

When this show was in its prime, a lot of those full sized ladies were actual comediannes. A great number of the shows were produced, written, and directed by women. It was just a totally different time. When folks had some skin and a real sense of humor. Unlike today, so many folks are sensitive, and easily butt-hurt. I will end this with one of my favorite lines from Al to Peg. Peg: "Did you me miss me hon"? Al: "With every bullet so far".

I live in England, so we were a little behind you with this programme. It used to come on our TV around Midnight, so not many people saw it. I'm going back about 30 years ago, during my drinking and fun nights with friends. We'd usually get in around 12 midnight and this would be about to start. My mates would come round to mine and watch it. Absolutely hilarious. And I'll never get the best saying that the philosopher Al Bundy created.... "Never try and understand women.... Women understand women, and they hate each other". Never a truer word said. I learnt this as I got older. It's really popular in memes now 😂😂😂😂
