The "Director's Cut" (studio required cuts for length for the theatrical cut) has some great additional scenes. Most important is one where we learn that Ripley had a daughter. Ripley was supposed to be back for her 11th birthday had the original mission gone as planned. As it was, the daughter had died two years before Ripley actually returned. It adds an extra layer of poignancy to Ripley's relationship with Newt. And as others have mentioned, there are no other Alien movies (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). In my headcanon, Ripley, Newt, and Hicks form a nice family unit on their return with a repaired Bishop as the kindly uncle. And nobody can tell me otherwise.

That's crazy knowing that she had a daughter would've added that extra layer. Luckily todays movies can be up to 3 hours long and people love it. i guess back then more then 2 hours was to much lol. i don't blame you for saying that 1 and 2 are the only alien movies 3 and 4 arent that great.

I believe they said the mech loaders were large puppets with operators situated behind and around the human operator, that were removed digitally.

43:55, I agree 100%! Sigourney Weaver has made a perfect job in Alien as a female lead character. Well written, great acting, and focusing of entertainment, not like in the nowdays! And the best she has made was in Alien Resurrection, years later; hope you will look the whole Alien movies with Sigourney Weaver.😆 To be true, I couldn´t ever imagine a male lead character in Alien movies. The movies back then were perfect, well maybe except the 3rd Alien movie, but it´s fine! Great to see that you enjoyed the movie, for the most of the people that movie was the best of the triology, and later, like said above; Alien: Resurrection!

yup, she did a great job in these movies and I wouldn't change a thing. now there's always some kind of agenda. people don't mind female leads as long as its good and makes sense. I will be watching all the alien movies up until the newest one coming out this month. so keep a lookout for those. I can already tell you the third one is booty cheeks lol. I'm excited to watch Resurrection!

"Aliens": Third Officer Ripley has been found and taken to Gateway station with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will The Weyland-Yutani Suits make of her blowing up the "Nostromo"? This looks like the theatrical version that I saw in 1986. Jenette Goldstein is/was a bodybuilder who spoke fluent Spanish and showed up for casting as a Latina gang member. Her freckles gave the makeup people fits.;) 8:52 "Sgt. Johnson?" Al Matthews will always be "Sgt. Apone" to me. Great reaction! Gotta say Ripley didn't necessarily simply waste time unloading in the hive, because if they don't even make it to the elevator/dropship to begin with, then the nuclear detonation shortly after won't even matter anymore. If Ripley hadn't have done that, there would've/should've been a bunch more aliens after her besides the queen. It's also kinda like how some reactors (not you) are quick to call Vasquez an idiot for firing after the aliens wake up and rupturing the cooling system - but if they don't even make it out of the hive, then the nuclear detonation hours later doesn't even matter.

I'm so glad that Hollywood exercised a measure of control and never made any more sequels. Yep, no more Alien movies whatsoever. 👍 😎 Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Jenette Goldstein. Historical Fact: Al Matthews, who plays a Marine sergeant in this film, was in real life the first black Marine to be promoted to the rank of sergeant in the field during service in Vietnam. Gun Enthusiast Fact: James Cameron personally designed the M-41A pulse rifle. He based it on the WW2 Thompson sub-machine gun. The pistol used by Colonial Marines is a Heckler and Koch VP70. Movie Magic Fact: The full-size queen puppet was actually too big to fit into the elevator. For the shot where she is seen there, her tail was removed, and yet the back of the elevator still had to be opened to accommodate the prop; smoke effects, dark lighting, and a black curtain at the back obscure this. Cute Kid Fact: When filming the scene with Newt in the duct, Carrie Henn kept deliberately blowing her scene so she could slide down the vent, which she later called a slide three stories tall. James Cameron finally dissuaded her by saying that if she completed the shot, she could play on it as much as she wanted. She did and he kept his promise.

@@NeedumReacts The special edition is the original version Cameron wrote and filmed. He then cut some scenes for time, so theaters could have more showings per day. It was the insanity at the time. When he released the movie on laserdisc, he restored those scenes and the special edition has been the preferred version since. Cutting those scenes creates some plot holes, weakens the story and Ripley's character, which no one notices because the pace is so fast and the movie is so good, but it does make a difference. If you had seen the SE, you would not have questioned why Ripley would go back for Newt, for example. Some freaks insist the theatrical cut is better, but they don't have any valid arguments.
