Look, if you're going to watch the arrow then you might aswell go full send and watch the flash, supergirl, and legends of tomorrow. They're all in the same multiverse with crossover episodes. The good thing is that you have a few seasons of Arrow to watch before you have to decide. But the flash is really good and has the most crossovers with arrow.

Each show has its own flavor, arrow is darker, flash is more family centered, legends of tomorrow is more humorous and supergirl has a flavor i cant quite define. All are excellent in their own way.

just so you know flash doesnt start until season 3 of aroww and i highly recommend looking up arrowverse timeline so you know when to start flash if you do decide to go down the rabbit hole. However, unless other people agree, other thsn the first season of dc legends, i never watched it or super girl and they honestly weren't really needed for stories sake very much so i would say those are more optional

The arrowverse is composed of a bunch of other CW shows later on, so, I advice you either have someone tell you the continuity and placement of other cw shows within the arrowverse and their crossover episodes that come later on, or look it up yourself, that has a risk of getting spoiled though

Just FYI, the Flash show doesn't start in universe until season 3 episode 1 of Arrow. So from that point on, there will be things happening in the Flash that also affect Arrow and stuff happening on Arrow that will affect the Flash. So it's important to know what's happening in each show to keep up with events going on

Well, you just got my attention! Green Arrow is my favorite superhero, and while this show deviates from his comic book lore in some big ways (he's not just "Batman with a bow"), I still love it. Some of the best action television ever made in America. I'm hoping that a more comics-accurate depiction of the character appears in the new James Gunn DCU, but in the meantime, I'm always happy to return to this show.

The Arrowverse has crossover episodes. To not mess up the watch order of things, begin watching the flash when you get to s3 of Arrow. (Unless you dont care about continuity, watch both at the same time....i would not recommend going that route tho)

Btw the one that play Oliver, Stephen Amell, does his own stunts including the salmon ladder (that thing were he does the pull ups while jumping higher and higher with the stick on that metal framework thing no idea wht its called xD).
