28:38 What you think is green screen probably wasn't green screen!! They used a big installation called a Volume, which is a ginormous curved screen which projects the locations where they are. Of course there still is green (or blue) screens, but the Volume was a big part of this production. You can definitely see it sometimes though.

The genocide of the Air nation is very reminiscent to the destruction of the Shaolin Temple in 1647. I have seen a couple Kung Fu movies that have had that destruction in them and I suspect they used elements of that to create the fall of the air temple.

Iroh in this show is a bit closer to the Iroh of Book 2. He still has some humor but he’s a lot more of a life mentor coaching Zuko.

I cried so much in this episode. The cartoon is more funny. But I loved this heavy tone because in real life even if you are a kid this things are really depressing. I agree about Katara. Her character is more dominant ,self confidence and energetic. Over all it is a fantastic show to watch. In my opinion cartoon and live action is two different faces of same coin. I felt amazing while I was watching. I love your reactions guys. When ant-man reaction is coming. And I am sorry if said something wrong English is not my native language. Lovo you🥰😇

If Anng not leave Avatar stage will do everything to protect him and all people in the temple. That's why many Avatar get angry when Anng leave his responsibility behide.

A nice introduction to the Atlab world. Totally agree we need more from Katara. Loved that you guys got teary eyed! I did too a few times watching this season.

Katara does start out a bit ... "subdued?" ... she gets better. I think they toned her down to make Sokka more assertive feeling. He isn't so much a sexist at the start but he is more - I don't know, maybe "gruff" - but by making Katara a bit weaker at the start it is easier to make Sokka more tough without taking him too far.

I would definitely not watch this series until you're at least half way through season 2 of the animated series. They added some things that shouldn't be there til season 2

7:12 The reason you haven't seen any female monks in the cartoon is because the air temples are segregated by gender (north/south: male, east/west: female).
