When death threats appeared to Jimin, you saw true brotherhood among them. Suga literally requested to wear the exact same cloth as Jimin in order to protect him. Throughout the whole event Suga stayed alert like a body guard.

I know this was a hard video to get through, but thank you for doing it anyway so you can understand what they and ARMY have had to fight against from the very beginning, and sadly it's still happening. Just a few things in the last year: V was hated on and lost a ton of Instagram followers just because he posted an old pic of eating at McDonald's (some are trying to boycott it, which is so dumb...), Suga has faced a lot of hate and backlash for stumbling off his electric scooter while tipsy and people petitioned for him to be kicked out of BTS, fans of other groups have slandered Jimin's latest solo album, Muse, saying he's untalented and can't sing, and so on. But what I love about BTS is that even with all this crap, all they want is to spread love and positivity to ARMY. They are genuinely such good men and deserve the world!!

And yes, unfortunately, the hate and jealousy continues to this day. It seems to be mostly from the fandoms of other Kpop groups being angry when BTS wins awards or breaks records and their groups do not. Now, to be fair, many of the members of those groups themselves are, actually, fans and friends of BTS so it is always mind boggling to me that their fandoms are so toxic. I always felt if the toxic parts of the these fandoms or antis would put as much effort into supporting their groups instead of trying to tear down BTS their groups might get more success. There are so many "behind the scenes" toxic people looking to destroy BTS and Big Hit that it's almost like something new pops up every day, especially while BTS is off for their military service. Right now it is a false narrative being spread regarding a badge displayed on RM's uniform. Many have accused him of displaying a nazi swastika. The symbol on Namjoon’s uniform is believed to be a Buddhist military badge, signifying his role in religious duties during his service. It’s a military insignia worn by officers tasked with overseeing religious ceremonies and practices, not a symbol of hate or hate speech. The symbol is an ancient one dating back to Hinduism and predates the nazi form by centuries. You also might want to look into the horrid and hateful things being said about Suga after his unfortunate accident last August where he fell off his kickboard scooter in front of his residence and was subsequently found to have a higher than acceptable blood alcohol level. He paid the fine but was subjected to months of hateful comments and false media reporting. Toxic antis even went so far as to pay for and have delivered to the HYBE building, hundreds of funeral wreaths calling for him to be kicked out of BTS among some of the milder statements. Our poor, humble Suga had already apologised on Weverse immediately after it happened for his actions but also felt the need to apologise 2 more times for his error. It was heartbreaking and still angers me to this day. Fortunately ARMY and several world renown celebrities jumped right in and countered the hate and misinformation with massive support campaigns and love for Suga. So, ARMY is ever vigilant to protect our guys when needed.

I completely understand your reaction. I still feel my blood heat every time I watch videos like this. I just can't understand how anyone could hate them. I know they are not perfect, just like all human beings. But they are so incredible and humble, they give us so much joy, good examples, love, dedication and pride. They spread positive messages and encourage us to overcome our difficulties. No one is forced to like them, but this hatred is unacceptable.

Now you see why ARMY is so protective of BTS. LOOK....I am not even ARMY but I have so much respect for BTS. I actually owe them so much for getting me into Kpop. I found BTS when my mom was really sick. I knew I was losing her and they helped me so much. I found them when I needed them the most. When my mom sadly eventually passed away... I was in a depression. The only ones that could make me crack a smile were these 7 amazing guys. They mean the world to me and they don't even have a clue how important they are to me. Its hard for me to see that they went through so much ...yet they helped me through one of the darkest periods in my life. It makes me physically sick to see how heartless and cruel someone can be to someone else just because of the way they look, or sound, or act ...whatever it may be. Thank you for this reaction. I can see by the way that you responded to some of these facts...that you are a genuine person. 💜

about the misogynistic lyrics in "War of Hormone", I personally don't get offended by them, but I can also see why people say that they are. The entire song is about young teenage hormones, it's entirely part of the concept. And it's exactly how young teenage boys are at that age (in fact, BTS is tamer than IRL boys). But there is that time in life that everyone goes through, and we shouldn't be condeming all youths for being youths, but rather being mentors so they grow to be respectful men.

That’s not true!!! Although a lot of armys may still think this his parents were not actually farmers, nor were they poor. Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Rosan(xCeleste) does a good job with this summary. She is a 2014 army. I hope she updates this video or does a part 2. Not pleasant info to hear but I don't want to run away from things that make BTS who they are today. I was really taken aback by 1st listen/watch as baby army. And u know the USA media do the same thing. They barely talk about BTS. They make u think oh this music is for young girls. This will not be my thing. But that is so wrong. I ignored BTS for years. It makes no sense. I love anime and am a big otaku. I like Asian fashion and food. Why would i ignore BTS? I am still mystified years later. Appreciate your honesty. Liked your passion too. Really happy to be your sub. Love hearing ur thoughts. A few months ago i watched the full video of that doc explaining BTS and the white paper project. Army is truly amazing. BTs calms me down too and give me joy. I am glad ur here. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟

I've been a fan since 2017, I've watched their lives, their variety shows, their interviews, their music videos and i never saw anything bad about them 🤷‍♂️ people always need to find something to complain about, I was a big fan already and then I went to their concert....and that's when I saw their true colors in person, what an amazing group of guys, when they were talking to the audience you can tell they weren't trying to put on a show for you, no pun intended lol, they weren't fake they were just their normal goofy, nice guys, listening to them talk was like listening to your best friend talk. And might I add, they put on a damn good concert, best one I've ever been to

You would think that racism was a big part of most of the death threats and that may have been true back then. These days the death threats are usually born from delusional shippers and solo stans. It's a daily thing on Social Media, towards any of the members but in my experience, mostly towards Tae and Jimin. (Speaking about social media and how toxic it has become over shipping wars, In June of 2023 both Jimin is a Pedo and Taehyung is a Pedo were both trending on Twitter. A truly embarrassing day for so called ARMY.) One that made the news more recently was Jimin receiving death threats from a Japanese TK shipper. It was very frightening and sad to see that level of crazy.

This video gives you a glimpse of the crap that idols go through in the Kpop industry and it's beyond annoying and infuriating. This is why some idols have taken their own lives, this is why idols have to go on hiatus for depression and anxiety. I think it's far worse for girls who are always slut shamed, fat shamed, etc. It's mindblowing the sht that they go through. If they're on VLive and a fan asks them to do something and they don't do it, they're called out for being rude, bish or a-h*le. Have stalker fans follow them EVERYWHERE. Sometimes they're given toys with hidden cameras in them as "gifts" during fan meets. Some kpop fans are psychotic and it's SO TOXIC. I love the kpop industry for their music but the industry and fanship is beyond toxic.

And they're still under attack to this day. There have been several incidents since xCeleste made this video, not to mention a huge problem with antis pretending to be ARMYs and behaving horribly online to discredit both the fandom and BTS themselves, a strategy they also used as part of the Break Wings project mentioned in the video. If you want to know what the alleged misogynistic lyrics was about, it was three things: The mv for Boy In Love (where they emulated the behaviour often found in K-dramas at the time), two short tweets of RM covering a couple of lines from US rap songs with slang that translated very poorly, and especially the song War of Hormone, a fun, clearly ironic look into the mind of a teenage boy. As a (western) woman I have absolutely no problem with any of it and in fact WOH is an absolute banger. Sadly, because of the controversies, they don't perform it anymore. But give it a try - the mv is a lot of fun (and the Real War version of the dance practice is even funnier. 🤣) I agree that this video is pretty infuriating but it's still an important part of their story and shouldn't be overlooked. I do love that XCeleste chose to remove the names of the other groups because that really isn't the point and in fact the different members in the groups are often good friends behind closed doors. It's the fandoms that don't always get along, to put it mildly. 🙄 Anyway, thank you very much for sitting through this, imo, very important video. 🫂 💜

Also let me say this about some ARMY. I consider myself to be ARMY. LOVE BTS but there are some ARMYS out there that are WAAYYY OVERLY protective of BTS. They think BTS are complete saints, they like to think they don't smoke, are still virgins, etc. C'mon. Let's be real. I'm sure they've slept around. They're not 100% pure. Whether or not it's true but I hear JK sleeps around A LOT but guess what. THEY'RE HUMAN!!! They're young, of course they gonna do stuff like that. Some fans hear this kinda sht and they GO OFF. Again, some psychotic fans out there that think these idols are PERFECT. FLAWLESS. PURE. If they drink, smoke, or sleep around, it doesn't make em bad people (unless they're in a relationship) but I don't see them being unloyal people. Its unreal the standards these fans hold these idols to.
