Have y'all never heard of the game series Castlevania? I haven't played them, but I knew this was from that going in. From what I know, they're fun, and most people like them for their story, and with this series, I understand why.

This is going to sound pedantic, but it's a bit of a pet-peeve of mine when people refer to a western animated series' dialogue audio as "the English dub". One of the key differences between the way Japanese and western animation is produced is that in Japan the rough animation is made first and then VAs dub their lines over it in the recording studio. Meaning the Japanese, English and whatever other languages the dialogue gets produced in are _all_ "dubs". However, in western animation, there are some story boards made, but before anything is animated the VAs get together and basically perform all their dialogue as though it was an old radio drama serial. Then, the animation is tailor-made to match with the pre-existing audio recorded, rather than the other way around. So if the original language was English, no English dubbing (except for ADR and stuff) takes place, whereas every _other_ language has to be dubbed in. One key difference you should be able to pick up on is that in western animation, no matter how "anime" the art-style is, the animation of characters lips will actually match and be in sync with what's being said, rather than in anime where it's typically non-specific lip-flapping animation.

What I don't like about subtitles these days is that a character who hasn't been introduced yet are already named in the subs.
