This is still my favorite Pam Grier movie. She was pure vigilante mode on this drug syndicate.

I just love the fashions and use of striking colour in these 70s era movies! They're always a visual feast for the senses! I was born too late... wish I could have grown up in these times! These movies are so much fun!! 😁

I totally agree! With the exception of those front zipping pimp outfits lol, the clothes were gorgeous in the 70s

Ahhhhhhhh shit. I should be sleep, but I saw this and had to click. Roy Ayers kills it with the score and Pam Grier...Lawdy Lord, her best movie

My sister loved Pam Grier, she was older than me. This was a scream at the screen for sure! Grooving on 70's vibe, and then I fell out when you said "Bleached blonde bad built butch body"😮😂 Another good one 💐

So many great faces filling out this cast. Sid Haig, that big bald baddie. Did several movies with Pam, including JACKIE BROWN, where for once he played an honest judge. Haig had a big second wave when he did the Rob Zombie "Firefly family" horror films. Before he died, he also moonlighted as a hypnosis therapist for couples. Allan Arbus, the big bad. Used to married to the great photographer Dianne Arbus. Worked a lot with writer/director Robert Downey Sr., notably playing a Christ avatar in GREASER'S PALACE. Linda Haynes, the vicious white girl at the soiree. Played in one of the greatest '70s revenge movies ever, ROLLING THUNDER, with William Devane and Tommy Lee Jones. Just passed away recently. She retired from acting early and became a nurse. I am not sure if her stunt performer was a woman or a man in drag - there was certainly plenty of "wigging" back in the day. But listed among the stunt players is one of the greatest female stuntwomen ever, Jeannie Epper, who doubled for Lynda Carter on "WONDER WOMAN," so I'm inclined to think that's her in the fight.

"I'm gonna skip past this part..." I 100% forgot they do this in Coffy 😬 Sid Haig holding the driver at gunpoint to do it is next level F'd up But it wouldn't be an exploitation feature without the trashiest of garbage people as the villains, highlighting the real world evils of racism, misogyny and bigotry Sid Haig is a legend of exploitation and a very recognizable face I love to see pop up. RIP

"Oh this is devious..." Coffy loading her hair for battle 😍 My girl came ready to play! The 'ho-down throwdown' is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 Coffy is peak Pam Grier. Gorgeous, lethal, pure badass. And the soundtrack is amazing, loaded with original songs. A Coffy musical would be hilarious! There are some... less good 'sploitation with Pam😅, particularly the ones filmed in SE Asia/The Phillipines (usually some sort of 'women in prison' feature) - Women in Cages, The Big Dollhouse, The Big Birdcage, Black Mama White Mama, The Arena

You should see Judy Pace in the 1972 horror Frogs, She's a beautiful woman of color and her character's intro scene she's got a Charlie's angels glam about her including the Farrah wave hair style then later she's in this traditional culture dress with hair scarf for a cocktail scene looking glam! I love it when someone asks her if she made the dress and she responds " I didn't make it, I designed it" She's just super beautiful. (spoiler) I love how the character was genuine too and they didn't make her a gold digger especially when the man she's secretly engaged to unfortunately dies. Every scene she's in, she's just stunning!

The accent wasn't perfect but this was 1973 and most americans if not most of the world at that time weren't familiar with the jamaican accent like they are today, and bob marley had not risen to international fame either yet. One thing i give pam credit on is she got the expression right in what jamaicans would say at that time.

Sid Haig was in Foxy Brown and a couple of other blaxploitation movies. Shocked when i found that out because my introduction to him was when he was the bad guy in a kids TV show i loved as a kid called Jason of Star Command which came out a year after star wars. Shocked because they had this guy who was mainly in r rated movies appear as the main villain in a kids show in the same decade he was in those movies. And then on top of that they had the star of the Cleopatra Jones movies appear in the second season. They would never do casting like that anymore.

Hey Sista happy Sunday❤can you react to all the Bad Boys movies!!! I just recently watched Bad Boys 4 Ride or Die in the theaters twice, it’s so fuckin good & hilarious AF with great action at the same time. Great reaction btw, I heard about Coffy but never watch the movie but I seen clips of it, Pam Grier was truly attractive back in the days🔥she tryna be the female version of John Wick hehe

That ending was a troupe that exists about black women today. The black man can do all types of terrible things to her and she'll forgive him until she finds out he been with a becky..oh hellll no. LOL. I dunno how real that is but i seen this kinda thing emerge now and again on social media in the last ten years. Considering that isnt real life either, i dunno. I just remember what happened to that guy who played luke cage and how that ruined his career trajectory.

There's two types of blaxploitation films, the ones that was directed and or written by our people and the ones that weren't and the ones that weren't like to have any racial slur and racial violence they can think up against us compared to the ones written and directed by us were you dont see that much if at all. That's why i feel uncomfortable with a few of them.
