First movie after The Avengers! I was very excited for this first time watching of Iron man 3. I loved Tony Stark's character development in this one. He really has evolved comparing to the first Iron man. I hope you enjoy this reaction!
I'm saving up for a new pc to edit and export since mine keeps crashing. If you want to help, I put the parts on my Amazon wishlist. Don't feel like you need to ofcourse! www.amazon.co....

people overlook the great performance that Ben Kingsly gives. He's genuinely chilling when he delivers the line "and you'll never see me coming" as the Mandarin but then utterly goofy as Trevor Slattery. great actor.

His line about “A Chistmas Story” is an in joke because the actor that played Ralphie was in the first Iron Man as one of the people that built Tobias’ suit. The one that said “I’m not Tony Stark.” He was also a producer on it as well.

Yinsen mentioned meeting Tony at a party! And that Tony probably doesn’t remember him because of how drunk he was 😂 I love “I hate working here” guy So Tony no longer needs an arc reactor to stay alive. So when you see him in more stuff and he has an arc reactor, it’s not keep him from dying. Marvel used to do short films they called One-Shots. One of them was called All Hail The King, it showed Trevor in jail and revealed that there is a REAL Mandarin. If you can find it I recommend it. Surprisingly, they’re not on Disney Plus

The funny thing about that line "I loved you in A Christmas Story" is that Peter Billingsley, the kid actor that played Ralphie in ACS, was in Man in the Can 1 as an adult. He played the scientist who had to admit "he wasn't Tony Stark" when it came to building a compact arc reactor. By the way, the "Super Friends" quip was an in-joke poking fun at rival DC Comics for its cheesy cartoon TV series of the same name from the 1970s and 80s.

This is was a pretty good movie and is in a sense is the answer to Steve Roger's question "Take away the suit, what are you?". While Tony is a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, that is just money or requires others. That can all be taken away. In the end though, Tony Stark has it in him to be a hero even without money, power or superpowers.

What I (and a lot of other people) didn't like about this movie, was the Mandarin. In the comics he's Ironman's arch-nemesis. He's not an actor pretending to be a terrorist, he has 10 rings that are alien technology, each gives him a different ability.

me and a lot of people hated this movie when it came out, because it promised us in magazines the Mandarin with his ten alien power rings would be the bad guy in it, and then it was a bait and switch and it was AIM, but in the comics AIM are a bunch of scientists, not just one or two, and they all wear yellow bee keeper outfits and have a boss with a huge head named Modok. but the Mandarin is Iron Man's arch nemesis in the comic books, so they missed their chance to have a battle between the two characters

5:25 - "Super Friends" was the name of a (mostly awful) animated tv series for kiddies back in the 1970s about the DC (not Marvel) superheroes. The animation was stiff, the plots and dialogue stupid, and the different superheroes all had the same personality. Superman, Batman, Green Arrow -- radically different personality types in the original source material -- were all interchangeable. (In Marvel terms, it would be like having Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all have the same style of personality and dialogue.) And there were some "cute" kid characters who were insufferable. That was the kind of superhero entertainment we had when I was growing up. I would have gone out of my mind to see the kinds of movies and tv shows we have now.

"Ant-man looks like a weird concept" -- Unlike the smartass billionaire in the flying robot suit, the World War II soldier who spent nearly a century frozen in Arctic ice, the nerd who turns into a giant green monster when he gets upset, and the real-life Norse God of Thunder with the magical hammer? Weirder than those concepts?

I love the 10+ year MCU character arc of Tony: from supremely self-involved asshole to [spoiler].

How can the suits simultaneously be durable enough to withstand having a building dropped on them and fragile enough to blow apart when hit by a truck? I understand thematically why the suits are disposable, but they seem positively spring-loaded to disintegrate at the slightest contact. It kinda takes me out of the story because there is no in-universe reason they should behave that way. Quite the contrary, in fact. A security-obsessed Tony would work tirelessly to make a single suit more secure before building dozens of weak ones.

And a minor nitpick: When Tony is tied up and the repulsor glove doesn't arrive when he expects, am I the only one who flashed back to Iron Man 1's line "If my math is right, and it always is"?
