Fun Fact: There’s a “blooper” scene where Georgie actually manages to get his paper boat back and leaves Pennywise in storm drain. One of my former bosses is a huge Stephen King fan and saw that clip first and legit thought they changed the narrative and refused to watch the movie because of that. Fun Fact 2: The kid actors in this movie didn’t get to see Pennywise until the abandoned house scene, where they were legit terrified of the actor playing Pennywise.

Haven't finished the video, yet, but yeah all of the adults in Derry are being influenced by It to a certain degree. It can either bring out the worst in a person, or make them not see things. It's why that lady just completely ignored Georgie's blood in the water.

Anyone else besides me ever noticed that most of the adults in this movie were watching the same kids show? And considering that Pennywise uses the the show to hypnotize Bowers to kill his father, he basically hypnotized the parents to act upon their worst instincts. Making their kids fear them. It really is horrifying how big of an influence Pennywise has over the entire town.
@tycol32229 күн бұрын
In the book it's heavily implied that while not directly controlling them, he does influence the adults to look the other way
@kodytiffany5686Ай бұрын
That is a point that the movie cannot make that clear due to the cut content. Penniwise is from like caveman days; and has been psychically altering memories and thoughts relating to Derry. So its not that people are not looking into things its that the clown menace is filtering info from adults so that things can go smoothly and IT is not discovered by those that could say nuke it. Kids however are always psychic power houses in Stephen Kings work when compared to adults on average because Imagination is a bigger part of their thought process. Penniwise feeds off emotions and souls; so kids are more nutritious while also being more effective against him. That is some context that may exist in these 2 movies but is not as directly stated as it was in the book.

So, some things for context: Some of the situations are different from the book 'couse nowdays no one will be scared of 'em. Some changes were made due controversial themes like C.ejem A, and Or-G that was really unconfortable even on the book. Now something that has being said several times in the video, people act weird in this town, like they doesn't have common sense, that's one of the Pennywise powers. Make people unnaware of danger and forget or minimize negative feelings such as depression, sadness and guilt. That's because the Clown is a predator and he needs the people of this especific town (which is his territory) to be as easy to capture as a lamb.
@justnoone7520Ай бұрын
Is there any major differences?
@Fenn899Ай бұрын
@@justnoone7520A bunch. But it's less deliberately changing things, outside of the time periods and updating some of the monsters Pennywise turns into, and more that they just simply couldn't fit in everything from the book in. If you like reading, I highly recommend the book. There is loads in it that were left out of the original mini series and the 2 new movies. Some of it for pacing or too much content, others being a little too graphic or mind fuckery and some, just plain obvious. If I remember right, the dynamic between the girl and her father wasn't implied, it was apparently fact. He indeed SA'd her multiple times up to that point and still did. So the father was not only disgusting, but vile.
