I watched this with a few friends , we made fun of it at first but we actually liked it more and more. The Alan Parrish scene made me so happy they gave him a cameo of sorts . If Robin Williams saw this , I'm sure he would be proud 😊 💯😎

I think the game changed itself INTO this type of jungle game with NPC’s. I think when Robin Williams was in the game there was none of this because he talked more like it was surviving in a jungle for years and years. We also see him come out of the game wearing leaves and other jungle items and he said he never shaved before, so I think none of this was there for him.

It's possible. I just thought that Alan was dropped into a, less, populated area. The group in this movie got to his home by using what seemed like a cheat or a warp. That could have been really far from the city. And quite possible that any NPCs he met were all hostile so he tried to avoid them as much as possible. And as a 10 year old kid, he wouldn't have a lot of survival skills for a jungle, and it would have been terrifying.

Fun note: The 2005 movie "Zathura" is actually the unofficial sequel to 1995's Jumanji. Like this movie, the game changes shape to get people to play, but instead of a game cartridge, it chooses a "space adventure" board game called: Zathura. It never acknowledges itself as the sequel in the movie, but it is in the books.

I still remember when this spin-off sequel movie was first announced in the press in 2014 and it upset many people (including Bradley Pierce who played Peter in the 1995 original) accusing the studio of purposely banking off of the loss of Robin Williams who happened to have passed away that same year. But when the movie finally released, well. I saw it as a movie that’s not bad. At least it explored that Jumanji is a game that no longer sees itself as a board game and adapted itself into a video game when it heard the new players’ voices. The exciting consequences came to our world. Now we come to it!

Jack Black nailed playing a teenage girl. He was perfect in the role. And Karen Gillan getting to play against type and show her comedy chops was spot on. Kevin Hart was perfect as the jock "missing the lower three feet" of his body. The Rock was The riot whenever he "smoldered" during the game. And he played well the asthmatic that is allergic to everything.

Something that's a REALLY important note that gets overlooked from this movie: The future kids REMEMBER the game, even after the future changed. Which means this actually proves that Judy and Peter WOULD/DO remember their game experience at least, if not their lives before it too.

@@anthonycurby4606 I know. But a lot of people have tried telling me that they DON'T remember, cause they looked confused about them screaming "NO!" at the parents Ski Trip. Saying that it shows they don't remember the parents' death, and therefore their lives before the game.

A lot of people think Judy & Perter don't remember anything because they look surprised when Alan & Sarah scream 'NO'. But what most don't seem to realize is that Judy & Peter didn't hear their parents talk about going on a trip(the one that killed them), Because they didn't hear them, they would absolutely be surprise when, out of nowhere, Alan & Sarah screamed 'NO". So I firmly believe they remember.

This was my introduction to the Jumanji franchise in general and I love this cast, it's so exciting and funny and most of all action packed also I find the sequel to it phenomenal and I'm excited for when the 3rd one;s release date to yet be announced 😁💕🤣🙏🏻

I was absolutely surprised with this movie. The trailers looked terrible, and I thought it was going to suck. But after watching it, it was actually pretty fun! I thought the idea of making Jumanji a video game instead of a board game in this film was pretty clever since most kids these days play video games and don't really care about board games. This was a great way to introduce Jumanji to a new generation. It's very well done.

I was convinced it'd be horrible as well, but I love Karen Gillian (watch Oculus if you haven't!) and I kept seeing random reddit comments here and there about how it was actually fun, so I gave it a try. Was really pleasantly surprised, I'm glad they didn't just try to do a clone sequel of the original. They knew they couldn't replicate the bittersweet seriousness Robin Williams brough to the movie, and just went a completely different direction.

You asking ‘who touched it’ when the drums started again at the end of the movie, after they had beaten the game, before they smashed it made me think of something Spoilers for the next movie: The bad guy had a strengths and weaknesses screen when Bravestone smashed the Jumanji berry on his chest at the end, which could suggest that he’s actually a playable character since none of the other NPCs so far have that- so maybe someone did touch Jumanji at the end of this movie 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s probably not what’s happened at all but it’s interesting to theorise lol

This such a funny and amazing Jumanji movie 😁😁😁I mean there is no denying the the first one is a classic and nothing really tops it but this one was unique and fun and very different and you have all star line up I mean come on The Rock and Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan and Jack Black I mean the guy can play anything really he was so amazing playing a woman in a man’s body 😄and of course Nick Jonas 🤩🤩🤩I thought they all acted so well with there characters and they all have amazing chemistry together 😊😊😊 I think my favourite parts in this movie are the skill and weaknesses part and the flirting/Dance-fighting scene they always make me laugh like crazy 😂😂😂 but overall I love this movie and I loved the little tribute to Alan and I’m happy you finally watched it Tim and can’t wait to see the reaction to the second movie 😃😃😃😉😉😉

I think the game world changed when it transformed into a video game, that's why the name of the big bad's the same but the job class & appearance is different. Nick Jonas did squat in Robin Williams' hideout in the 3 weeks he's been there, but it's more of an easter egg/nostalgia bait/weak try at connecting the movies.

Personally, I think the Elephant token & the tree house are more like subtle reference to Robin's character Alan. Who was stuck in Jumanji for 26 years. After 26 years, it's natural that somethings of his would still be in Jumanji. Personally, I loved seeing those 2 callbacks to the OG movie They were both just a quiet, subtle nod to the 1995 movie. My interpretations, we acknowledge the 1995 version & this is a continuation of that story. Not a Reboot. That's how I saw it.

I think that’s what made this movie famous, the fact that you had big-time actors playing opposite personality of what they are normally are. Also Jack Black as Bethany with all the awkward gender moments. LOL!
