You have to watch each episode in its entirety in order to appreciate the set up of the jokes. Most of them run the entire episode, believe it or not. That way u will find it hilarious

Yep, hard to pick up on the humor with short clips. The comedy builds up over the episode and stuff that looks like nothing in isolation is hilarious in context

I think one of the moments I love the most took 7 or 8 years to build.... when Michael gives Oscar a demented sock puppet as a goodbye gift on his final day and Oscar pretends to love it then it cuts to him laughing hysterically because Oscar expects so little that he acts like a mother getting a gift from her idiot child

The thing with the Office and the characters, is that it gets exponentially funnier and funnier the more you get to know them. That's why it felt slow at first if you've never seen it.

Very accurate. The first couple of times I tried to watch it I couldn't get pass episode 3 because I didn't understand the humor. Once I decided to keep watching, it easily became one of the funniest shows I've ever watched.

You definitely need context for The Office, which comes from watching at least a few episodes. Some episodes could stand on their own e.g "Prison Mike". But if you have context even minor characters can be funny... even when everyone's silent, because you understand the dynamics between them

Fun fact, when they filmed this show they actually all showed up for work at 7 am and pretended like they were going into a real office job. They wanted it to seem as real and genuine as possible. & yes this show is easily one of the funniest shows of all time, definitely funnier than Wayans Bros respectfully

People who 'get' The Office comedy we laugh from way down in our gut such a laughter that seems to explode out of you because it's so funny. Not many shows do that to me - especially season 1-5

Parks and Recreation show is the same style of comedy. Also the mockumentary comedy film What We Do In The Shadows is basically like The Office, except its about vampires who are roommates living in modern day New Zealand. Exactly the same type of dry, witty, subtle humor as The Office. It's directed by Taika Waititi (who directed Thor Ragnorok and Jojo Rabbit), he also plays one of the vampires. They later made a show series based off the film, it's also called What We Do In The Shadows. Equally funny show.

“Diversity day”. That episode got pulled from airing on Comedy central. They also took a scene out of one of the Christmas episodes where Dwight is Belsnickel (A German version of Santa) and Nate from the warehouse wears blackface as (because Belsnickel’s classic character in traditional German folklore WAS historically a black character. Dwight realized last minute that it’s racist and Cala Nate to cancel coming in then later you see Nate at the Christmas party and he still has the lipstick on

The Office was the funniest show ever - if you ever worked in an office. It's pretty much what happens when you spend 8-10 hours a day in a cubicle at a keyboard and answering the phone. Great show.

John Krasinski is the actor you keep noticing. He's pretty big in the action scene these days with the Jack Ryan series and the Quiet Place movies. He, Chris Pratt and Zachary Levi are three goofy tv comedy actors of a certain age/genre (The Office, Parks and Rec, and Chuck) who are now action or action/comedy actors (Jack Ryan, Guardians of the Galaxy, Shazam).

The thing about The Office is that you have to understand the premise (it is filmed as if it were a documentary or reality show) and you have to familiarize yourself with the characters' idiosyncrasies, etc. then, you get it. The funniest show of all time, to me, and Michael Scott the funniest character.

John Krasinki (dude that looked familiar from "A Quiet Place") was in: A Quiet Place (1 and 2) Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness 13 Hours Jack Ryan (Amazon Series; pretty good) Jarhead (didn't know that! I'll have to watch it again!) Dude basically went from office geek/semi-dweeb to like an action/suspense hero. Pretty dramatic transformation when you go from The Office straight to 13 Hours.
