My siblings grew up watching this movie on the regular with the family, we always thought it was weird that no parents were paying attention or anything :) but we also concluded that it’s likely this movie takes place sometime in the late 70s or early 80s. A time during which parental supervision was not seen as very necessary if you were just playing in your own neighbourhood. 🤷‍♀️

​​@@BAUScoupleReactsoh yeah I read online when trying to look up where it/movie takes place or is set to be fictionally where it takes place.. and found instead also the date of the intended time frane in the movie that it is said to be meant to take place on oct/30/83 or october 30th of 1983 in someplace located in WI/Wisconsin USA. So I guess the concept of them not being as closely supervised as present day makes sense.
