I really love how they portrayed Mysterio. They found a nice way to make him fit into the MCU. In the Comics / TV Show back then he was a Special Effects Artist in Hollywood and thats how he did all those illusions. The MCU is really good with adapting the Comic Stories in a way that they fit into the bigger narrative of the Universe

Oh yeah, they way they made him "fit" is "jealous of Tony Stark". Which not only has been done before, but it's also all about Stark again. That is also the MCU movies are not good Spider-Man adaptations. They turned him into exactly what he never was in the comics - another hero's sidekick.

Now that the Infinity Saga is complete, it's time for Phase 4: 1. WandaVision 2. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 3. Loki 4. Black Widow (first phase 4 movie) 5. What If (animated series) 6. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings These are the only ones released so far, of course there are many more to come

The OneShot "All Hail the King" should be viewed before "Shang-Chi" since it's a bridge between one of the earlier MCU movies and "Shang-Chi."

Why would What if.... have anything to do with the MCU? They have no basis for the story arc of the next phase if it's an animation about possible scenarios that never happened. I say if she was trying to stay on track with the phase 4 story arc then skip it. If it does have something to do with it, then sure...I'll watch it, but I don't believe it's necessary to continue the MCU journey.

@@blackkatt777 They are not just possible scenarios that never happened, they actually did happen, in other timelines. Talking in-universe, they are not just mere speculations, but actual events happening in other universes that the Watcher is just observing and narrating, and after seeing episodes 5 and 8, we can see that the Watcher can interact with these people from other universes, so they are indeed real and not just mere stories that the Watcher just made up. Also, after episode 8, it is no longer an anthology series, as they brought back Strange Supreme, therefore, it is now a proper series with a finale. So, they are definitely building up to something, as Kevin Fiegie himself said that it is canon and important to watch, just in a different medium(animation), just like how the animated Star Wars movies are also very much canon and part of the story. So, it should definitely not be skipped, as, you never skip anything in the MCU, and What If...? is MCU.

I would recommend doing the first 3 episodes of Wandavision in one video, because they're short and it takes a while to build up steam. But after that the episodes are a bit longer and jam-packed with fun stuff to react to, so you could do individual episodes after that.

Definitely, individual episodes. The first 2 or 3 episodes are fun but a little weird and maybe even somewhat boring but by the 4th episode it really gets going and is worth it.

Also, the way they played this was really clever because there are a lot of spiderman fans that were already well acquainted with Beck and how he was a movie special effects artist turned villain. So I think the writer did a really good job at confusing us as to what was going on. For me at least, they at least created enough doubt in the whole story about other dimensions and stuff that I was genuinely surprised at the turn, and not at all disappointed like I was in IM3. It was so much fun to see him play both a hero and a villain!

Not meaning to be rude or anything, but I genuinely don't know how you can see Mysterio in a movie, and not know that he's a villain if you know the character. It's how he's done in every one of his first appearances, pretend to be a hero until Spider-man exposes him.

@@Eidlones Some people only know marvel through the movies. That is mostly me, except for some Saturday morning cartoons from the 90's like Spiderman and X-Men. I'm glad you are not trying to be rude, but I am surprised by how you genuinely cannot envision that there exist people who have not seen the cartoons or comics. I, for one, was very curious how the writers were going to handle him knowing there there are these two knowledge bases within the audience, and I think it is really cool how they wrote it with both in mind. When I went to see it with my wife, I am so glad I didn't mention anything about Beck or what I knew before we went in.

@@Eidlones Oh... I was fairly familiar with him, and went into the movie fully expecting to see a villain. Which is why it was so much fun that even my faith was shaken. I was really starting to wonder if this alternate dimension was a thing (we were faked out with the mandarin and we had dimensions with spiderverse). When I saw those images get turned off in the bar... it was such a cool feeling. It was like being tricked AND validated AT THE SAME TIME. So much fun, and so much fun to see other reactors see this for the first time =-)

Even knowing Mysterio from the comics I was really hoping he wasn't going to break bad because their chemistry was so good. They did a really great job of selling the friendship early, and also translating the character who was just an f/x artist without any real powers.

Since Black Widow was originally suppose to come out before the Disney Plus shows you may want to consider watching that next and then going into the series. Black Widow doesn’t spoil anything for the shows. Actually has a nice little connection with one of the series.

Hardcore comic fans would see through Mysterio’s ruse immediately. He calls the MCU Earth-616, but that’s the main universe in the Marvel *comics.* the MCU is on Earth-199999.

For the series, I would recommend doing multiple episodes at a time. Wandavision especially has short episodes, and you can probably do like 3 at a time. (total of 9 episodes) For The Falcon & The Winter Soldier and Loki, maybe do 2 episodes at a time, since they're longer episodes (a total of 6 episodes for each series).

That was a great reaction! I would say to split them up since the episodes are shorter. To stay consistent and push content, you could split each series into 3. WandaVision has 9 episodes so 3 episodes per video; and the other 2 series have 6 episodes each, so 2 episodes per video works out really well. This also really works well considering the pace of the series :)

This movie is SUCH a big win for comic book nerds. When the old Toby McGuire Spiderman movies came out, there were all kinds of people in official positions even explaining how Mysterio was a character who could NEVER be adapted to the big screen, and here we are. One of my favorite Spider Man characters ever, I am SO happy he not only made it into the movies but that the nailed him so PERFECTLY.

Basically, the rest of the world doesn't know what happened to Cap. Only the remaining Avengers probably know. Telling the world that Steve Rogers went back in time, lived out the rest of his life in peace and relative anonymity with Peggy, and is now an old man would probably bring him a lot of unwanted attention. So they probably felt that it's better to let the rest of the world assume that he died. Also, it's probably not common knowledge that the Avengers used time travel to reverse Thanos' snap. The fact that time travel is now a thing that exists is very dangerous if used by someone with malicious intent. The Thanos from 2015 found out about time travel and traveled to 2023 to try snapping out all of existence, after all. Best to keep the existence of time travel a secret.

Mysterio has always been my favourite Spider-Man villain, so this is a special one for me - partly on the basis that I always assumed he would never be used in a Spidey live-action film, and if he ever was, they would not use his actual costume. And here he is!! I should probably just give and say that Avengers: Endgame is the best Marvel movie ever...but I'm going to be annoying and stick with this film. I love the illusions; in the comics, Mysterio has (a) convinced Peter Parker his Aunt May had died; (b) posed as a psychiatrist, and convinced Peter he was going crazy; (c) convinced Spidey he was shrunk down to tiny size; (d) and, of course, faked his own death, only to return (hmmmmmm...).

After these the wandavision series (watched the first 2 episodes in a row) takes place 6 months after endgame (endgame is around September or October 2023) while SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME takes place 8 months after endgame. After wandavison these falcons series and the winter soldier which is located 4 months after endgame. After watching black window (the movie is situated between avenger ultron and avenger infiniti war. Then looked at loki which resumes at the endgame moment when the alternate loki escapes with the tseracte. Then he looked at Shang-Chi: the legend of the 10 rings, then what if?, then watch the Hawkeye series and Eternals which will be released in November (important also see the first 3 spiderman, the 2 the amazing spider - man and venom 1 and 2 before spiderman no way home which will be released in December 2021). PS: look in addition (it can also help) agent carter and agent of shield (to watch after Avenger endgame for agent of shield)

One thing I like to point out about Infinity War and Endgame. Thanos, despite being a psychopath is also someone who doesn't actually readily lies. He pretty much keeps his word when he promises something. And that brings me to the point about Tony Stark and Dr. Strange. Dr. Strange knew that they needed Tony Stark alive for them to win, so he offers up the timestone to Thanos in exchange. But many would say that doesn't mean much, but remember that during the snap, you can somewhat control who is dusted and who isn't, to a certain degree. Thor is the biggest threat to Thanos in terms of fighting strength (that he knew of, he came closest to killing him), but notice he didn't get dusted and it's because he bargained with Loki for Thor's life. He bargained with Gamora with Nebula's life, so Nebula is also spared from the snap even though she betrayed him and knows his secrets making her a liability for him, then of course Tony Stark, he bargains with Dr. Strange so he also spares him from the snap as well even though Tony Stark put up a good fight against him proving to be a worthy opponent. So Thanos, in his own weird sense of honor, doomed himself by sparing 3 people who posed a great threat to him just to keep his word to those he bargained with even though two of them were no longer alive when he did the snap...

in the cartoon, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, from 1982? have in the opening intro sequence, a giant fire monster that he and his friends are fighting, but they never mentioned in the tv show what that giant fire monster was in any of the episodes, maybe in the comic books, but i was a little kid at the time and hadn't started reading comic books yet. but now in this movie explains that it might have been one of these Elementals ?

Without giving anything really away, the series are all about resetting the table. The big stuff is done, “Spider-Man FFH” was a nice cherry on top, but now it’s back to the basics of introducing new characters, resetting old ones we know, and setting up a whopper of a bad guy that kind of makes Thanos appear like a big dumb jock. 😂 There is a bit of a come down but there is SO MUCH good stuff ahead. From most of the reactions I’ve seen, they do anywhere from 2 to 3 (sometimes 4) episodes per video (since they’re mostly short).

Far From Home was definitely the perfect follow-up to Endgame in terms of tone. And of course Mysterio revealing Spider-Man's identity is a major part of the plot for No Way Home. For WandaVision maybe three episodes at a time is a good idea? Either way though, I'm super excited to see your reaction! I think it's easily been the best of the three live-action series released

Hey Mari, this makes me wonder. Have you seen the Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy and Webb's Amazing spiderman? Because the fandom right now have a very huge suspicion that you should watch all 5 movies before you watch the next spiderman movie. "Agent Carter" belongs to "Captain America - First Avenger" and plays afterwise. I´ts the story about "Peggy" and the beginning of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Very excited for your continuation with the series and movies. I do suggest going back and checking out the older series if/when you can ("Agent Carter" and "Agents of SHIELD", and even the Netflix "Defenders" series, though the latter in particular aren't really part of the MCU). These are obviously many hours of viewing, so it would be a significant commitment. If you're a real completionist, you can watch "Inhumans" series too, but not too many people would miss it.

I think every version works for the shows, doing one ep. at a time or multiple ones. For Falcon&WinterSoldier and Loki I wouldn't do more than two at a time though, while for the first couple WandaVision episodes three at once would work just as fine. Whatever way you'll decide to do, I'm super excited for it, especially because all that you have left to watch right now came out this year, so it's very fresh in mind. 😁 Also I still can't believe that the next spider-man film is supposed to come out in just a few month.

For wanda vision , i will say first 3 episodes together , and the 2 at a time . There are 22 minutes long so individual would be very short . And it is good for you to watch at least the first 3 together. It was also released in that way . You also can watch black widow at any time now ,the movie is in the past .
