That moment at the door where Miles’ dad gives him the words everyone needs to hear at some point from a true parent… it breaks me to pieces every goddamn time. Perfect filmmaking, such a great flick, glad you went into it relatively blind. The cast to end all casts, between Kathryn Hahn (Agatha from WandaVision), John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, and Nic fucking Cage as Noir Spider-Man… For some trivia and such, Uncle Aaron shows up in the MCU played by Donald Glover in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He even says, “I don’t want those weapons on the streets, I got a nephew that lives around here,” referring to Miles. And Kingpin looks the way he looks because Wilson Fisk weighs over 300 lbs and has zero body fat. He’s just obscenely muscled, one of the strongest human beings in all of Marvel comics, no super power, no mutation, no magic or tech. As a heads up, they are working on not one, but two sequels to this right now, I’ve never been so hyped for an animated movie.

@@LN-Lifer Based on the trailer, i think the story is still about family. Into The Spider-Verse is about Miles' relationship with his father and uncle and his journey to become Spider-Man. In the new trailer, it looks like this is about his mom based on her speech. Peter B Parker and Miguel O Hara also has their own daughter. There are also Mary Jane and Anna Parker from Renew Your Vows in the trailer. Jessica Drew Spider-Woman is also pregnant. This is just a guess, but the story is probably about Miles' journey to be accepted in Spider-Society. The reason is because he's not the original Spider-Man from his universe. The spider that bit him is from other dimension.

Yeah, I grew up without a father too Alex so the scene with Mile's bound up and his Dad speaking to him through the door definitely hits not in a relatable way but in an envious pain way. My dad didn't _disappear_ but he was a very troubled man, in prison from when I was in first grade until I was in seventh, got out and wasn't very long before he was gone again -- even when he was in my life the relationship was very strained and I was never his son, I was a burden and a disappointment because I was so broken. Our relationship has somewhat been... patched, not even repaired, but even to this day at 31 years old I can't really guarantee I've ever heard my father say "I love you", or remember a time sooner to now than when I was 11 seeing him in a prison visit that he hugged me, or say he felt I had potential, or even call me "son" when he's not talking about me in the third person -- to this day I'm only "bro." Feels bad man. Love your kids, people, hug them tight, tell them you love them for those of us children that don't know what that is. Don't let them grow up feeling like they belong on the Island of Misfit Toys. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk. 🥸

The fact that you can quite literally pause this movie at any point, ANY point, and print it and hang it on your wall and it's gonna look good, makes this the best imho. 2 hours of animated art+and incredible storyline with all the right feels and a great soundtrack. The old movies are more nostalgic and the new ones are part of the whole Marvel-universe, which gives them a leg-up. The fact that not many people had even heard about Miles Morales before watching this movie and then when it was done felt a connection to him, that tells me it's just good storytelling right there. I honestly thought the movie was about Peter Parker (I don't have normal TV, I only stream/download, so I hadn't seen any commercials or trailers or anything) but I didn't mind at all that I was wrong. Like, with the first scene alone, his introduction, with him mumble singing to himself like an idiot is so relatable. From there on out it only builds and you get to know him better. Yes, some of the others might have a hot May, are funny and have famous faces and badass dancing in the streets, but Spider-Verse is the whole package. And it's all fresh for the most of us. Spider-Verse Wins, Fatality! edit: Not saying the others are bad, I even gave the Andrew Garfield ones which I didn't initially like at all a new shot after watching the new Marvel Spider-Verse one he was in and liked them better now. I think I saw Garfield in a different light in the Marvel movies and it made me realize it wasn't HIS fault the Sony-movies sucked. So I watched them again and enjoyed his performance much better this time around and therefore also the movies. Still though, Spider-Verse wins imo..

I love the Miles rises scene for so many reasons, but most of all would be just the ordinary people’s perspective. For them, Spider-Man just died a day or so ago. Yet just a few days later a kid is swinging around and running on buildings. It shows that hope never dies, our heroes never die.

10:30 Well, at its fullest potential, spider sense is waaay too good of a super power to say “no” to. It’s the most op spider power, actually. And having super strength, reflexes, durability and all that also would be very helpful in life. You just have to figure out how to stop sticking at random times and you’re good))

Old video... but as someone who never met their dad, due to him dying before I was born, any memory is better than no memories... yes, it ended shitty while you were young, but at least you have something to look back on. First time I've heard you open up, been watching a few videos recently, felt the need to comment Also, you're killing it. Your reactions are so kind-hearted and fun to watch, and the adult jokes help too 😂

The older Spiderman films before the MCU are a necessary watch. So is the Daredevil show.

It's crazy how none of us expected Uncle Aaron to die because his name wasn't Ben but thinking back on it of course Spidermans Uncle had to die

My fav movie ever this is, I just love how different Miles is to the typical spiderman, he speaks Spanish, does graff/stickers, teaches himself to be a spiderman using the comics, its just so awesome

The whole "it's a leap of faith" thing hits... SO hard for me. There's a lot in life that really just... is a leap of faith, and you're never going to know if you're going to do well with it, or not. And yeah, for quite a while now, that kind of a message has been hitting pretty hard for me @_@

"Wisdom tooth" as you call him was King Pin. Super strong, virtually indestructible, and doesn't feel pain are his abilities. In the comics he had a large physique and tiny head. Here they exaggerated it as they did with everything. The one I'm surprised you missed calling out was Spider Noir voice acting of Nicolas Cage.

If you or anyone has a chance, cinimawins does an amazing breakdown of this movie. It's a damn near perfect movie. Pacing, music, character development, humor, and feels. They specifically chose the artstyle to emulate a comic book and you can even pause and catch perfect comic book frames. Love the reaction Alex!
