Okay so can I just talk about Christopher Lee for a second? Lee has the world record for the most sword fights of any actor on screen. Lee was also a member of the British Special Forces and a spy, where he spent most of the years after WWII hunting down Nazis in hiding. Fun fact, James Bond was actually based on Lee. After this, he obviously became one of the most prolific actors of all time, but also made many friends in high places. He was knighted by the Queen, best friends with the president of INTERPOL, and was almost married into the Swedish Royal Family. He can trace his ancestry back to Charlemagne, of whom he is a direct descendant of. He was an incredible opera singer, and briefly started a heavy metal band in his 90s. This man has killed several Nazis in hiding, worked as an opera singer, a spy, a member of the SAS, a heavy metal singer, an actor, a fucking knight, and is overall one of the coolest and most accomplished human beings to ever exist.

anakin's break down in front of padme was probably the freest he's ever felt since becoming a jedi. he's been repressing so much frustration, angry, and sadness that it all came out in front of the only person he felt comfortable to express it. and he is crying because he knows what he did was wrong and against what he is taught but he hates that he felt good and justified in doing it. that scene was more about him finally venting all the feelings he had inside of him than anything: his frustrations with obi-wan's method of teaching, the disrespect he felt from the other jedi, his desires for padme, his hatred of the sand people, the sadness over losing his mother and his helplessness over not being able to do more with his power

Awesome fact. Samuel L. Jackson was a huge fan of Star Wars and was very hyped to be in the Prequels. When he was talking to George Lucas he asked George as a Joke if he could make the Lightsaber Purple as that was his favorite color. From what I can understand, the whole point of the clone wars was for Palpatine to gain control over as much of the galaxy as possible. The republic will recruit as many planets and systems as possible, and the separatists do the same. And whichever side wins the war, will gain control over the over sides assets, including the recruited planets. And with Palpatine incharge of both sides, it doesn't matter who wins or loses. @@VegetaLF7 Stormtroopers are volunteer forces. They are a higher teir actually, they serve as an elevated highly mobile infantry force that come in for pivotal objectives or for counter insurgency stuff. Imperial Army handle the garrisoning and actual war fighting and they can be conscripts but not always. If you want a comparison to real life, Imperial Army would be like your US Army regular grunt of varying quality, trained by the numbers. Stormtroopers would be the equivalent of Army Rangers but not quite your teir 1 devgru guys (that would be something like Death Troopers), they do a lot of what regular army does but they receive a much higher grade of training as well as budget for equipment. Strategically they operate also as marines, they are fleet based and strike from star destroyers so they can move where they are needed quickly as opposed to the Imperial Army that has to move thousands of troops and heavy equipment, whereas stormtroopers are actually a lot smaller and lighter in how many bodies and machines they bring. Of course its easy to forget this when using the films as reference, but you have to remember that the films are where the stormtroopers assigned usually to Vader are on screen. In New Hope they are performing their Marine role of CQB Boarding action on the Tantive and absolutely wreck the Alderaan soldiers aboard and then go on to track down what they think are remaining insurgents in the desert and do so pretty quickly, tracking the plans to Lukes home in less then a day or two. in the next movie they are serving as a spear head and quickly assault and rout echo base and are serving as Vader's escort on bespin, Vader while on Bespin isn't even really acting for the empire here but going awol to get to Luke so he only really has his own ship and the stormtrooper legion aboard as his assets. In 6 Endor is an Army instalation but the stormtroopers you see fighting on Endor are the same unit, Vadars own legion who show up to ambush the rebels as planned.

Originally, Master Sifo-Dias, the one who ordered the Clones for the Republic in this movie, was actually an alias for Darth Sidious, aka The Emperor from the previous trilogy. Since Sifo-Dias was an anagram for “Sidious.” But apparently, George Lucas liked the name, so just changed the story to “He’s a Jedi, he commissioned a new army for the Republic, then he died.”

Let’s remember Palpatine needs Padme dead but doesn’t want to do it himself so he gets count dooku to do it, but he doesn’t want to do it himself so he gets jango fett to do it, but he doesn’t want to do it himself so they get a shapeshifting assassin to do it, but they don’t want to do it so they sent a robot to kill her and some how the robot didn’t want to do it so it sent bugs which failed. And instead of killing padme now that she is defenseless since the two chased the assassin jango decided to kill the assassin they hired instead. Full credit to cosmonautvarietyhour

Fun Fact: Samuel L. Jackson personally asked Lucas to give him a unique saber color so he could stand out in the crowd, and purple is his favorite color. And allegedly the prop guys etched the insignia "BAD MOTHER FUCKER" on his hilt lol. Originally the lightsaber colors were just Blue for Jedi, Red for The Dark Side. The reason Luke's lightsaber is green is because the blue version was hard to see on the Jabba's Barge fight scene with the blue sky behind them; so last minute they made Luke's saber green to stand out better. Since then it became fan canon that Blue = fighter Jedi, Green = wise sage Jedi, and Lucas effectively canonized this tradition in the prequels by making Qui-Gon and Yoda green. As well as making Red the color for _all_ Sith, not just Vader. Since then in the Clone Wars show and games etc, the general lightsaber tradition is Blue for fighting guardian, Orange / Yellow for investigating / temple-guarding Sentinels, Green for meditating Consels, and then Purple is a rare color for Windu that's particularly difficult to get ahold of and is associated with strongly individualistic Jedi who tap into Dark Side energy without succumbing to it, but understanding and taming it; in the cartoons Windu has unique shatter-point powers that are too hostile and temperamental for regular Jedi to control. In the original canon before Disney deleted it, the reason for Sith having Red lightsabers is that the Jedi control the hostile wasteland planet where the crystals are harvested, and jealously control all access to the planet as their sacred grounds. The Sith bypass this monopoly by creating synthetic crystals with forbidden science; the Red crystal is the only one they can make successfully.

Anakin is 19-20 in this, Padme is about 24. R2 was Padme’s droid, not Anakin’s. But she does give him to Anakin after this movie, and Anakin lets her keep 3PO. *Obi:* We’re here to protect you, not investigate. *Ani:* We’re gonna investigate the S**T out of this Padme! *Obi:* Dude, wtf? “She’s a politician and they’re not to be trusted” Based Obi-Chan *Ani:* jumps out of car from high altitude. *Obi:* “I hate it when he does that.” *Also Obi:* yeets himself out a window from a high altitude 3 minutes earlier. It’s not explicitly confirmed on screen till recently, but Dooku was the one who erased Kamino from the archives. He was in good standing with the jedi after leaving the order, prior to his true nature being revealed, so he visited the temple sometimes. Clone troopers are NOT stormtroopers. Though they are the first step towards them. The clones eventually get discontinued and stormtroopers are regular human recruits and conscripts. This is explained outside the movies. Man, the dark room with the fireplace, that outfit, Padme was gonna rock his galaxy, and then he had to start talking about his tormented feelings 🤦‍♂️ Sad boy rizz is the perfect description! 😂 Btw, jedi aren’t celibate. They can have sexual relationships. Although the council at this time doesn’t look at it fondly for risk of selfish attachment forming. To be clear, Cliegg DID NOT marry his slave! He never really owned her. They fell in love, HE BOUGHT HER TO FREE HER, and then married her. Owen and Beru don’t actually know Anakin became Vader. Obi Wan told them he died in the war. Padme would be more disturbed by Anakin's slaughtering of the Tuskens if she wasn’t recognizing he was making a confession of pain and shame. He’s not proud of this, he’s not revelling in it, he’s crying about it. He even says “I’m a jedi. I know I’m better than this.” Not to mention he already has sympathy points from him and his mom being former slaves who _weren’t_ being freed by the system she’s a part of. Plus, the tuskens kidnapped and tortured a woman _for a month_ until she _died,_ and for no apparent reason! They aren’t exactly being presented to her in a sympathetic light at the moment. With the exception of Dooku, none of the Separatists were aware of the clone army beforehand. They were preparing for war because of their intention to secede from the republic. Later after the clones pulled up, they’re like “where and how the hell did they get this army so fast?!” “Yoda too old to be leaping like that”-poorly aged comments 44:55 He’s a WHAT wizard?! Ah damn, his hood _was_ pointy in Ep4 😓 3 years between this and Ep 3. Both in real life and in universe. You guy’s are wild for putting 5 that low. But I suppose your reasoning is fair As to the creation of the clone army, jedi Sifo Dyas did actually order it but he died before it was completed and Dooku took control of the project under an alias. Jango said he was recruited to be the clone template by a man called Tyranus. When Dooku meets up with Sidious, he’s greeted as Lord Tyranus. Tyranus is Dooku’s Darth name IIRC, you plan on watching the 3D Clone Wars show. There’s actually also a 2D microseries, which despite not being in main continuity anymore I recommend watching before the 3D version because the latter was originally a continuation. So some things are skipped over in the 3D one. It’s also really good, and a couple hours, so a quick watch. Oh yeah, and chronological order for the 3D show. -I tried to comment this separately, but it and any other comment I make keeps disappearing. Even my reply to a reply.- Well now they’re not disappearing😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

So how does he convince everyone to give up their freedom? He fabricates the war and makes everyone choose sides. Whoever wins, he'll take control over directly and whichever loses, he'll just absorb into his new empire. It's brilliant and evil. Lucas cooked when he came up with such a political allegory.

Yoda fighting was always gonna be a huge challenge. Most people wanted him to not fight with a lightsaber at all, only the Force, but making that look compelling, specially against an enemy with a lightsaber, was a bit too much for Lucas. The acrobatic solution he went with was... Something... My favourite imagination of how Yoda could fight was the idea of him using a lightsaber, but never holding it: he'd just use the Force to move it around, like you're fighting an invisible enemy. Could have been interesting.

Palps was on both sides of the Proxy war and Dooku really did think the Jedi were rightly corrupted. Anakin isn't even the worst story. The fall/rise/fall(?) of General Grievous is probably the most tear jerking of the lot, and his rage was truly justified. Too angry to die is a theme in this verse. 4:30 So, FUN FACT ABOUT THE JEDI, although their doctrine forbids them from their feelings like love and whatnot, it DOES NOT forbid procreation (since some aspects of Force aptitude are tied to blood lines & passing on certain genetics). And so, that means the Jedi are 100% allowed to "clap dat pussy," but ARE NOT allowed to get attached, which is both funny & hilarious but sad & tragic at the same time. But yeah, basically in short, the Jedi Code be like: "Marriage? That's a no-no! Sex though? Hell yeah, brother! Get it!" 10:23 One other conflict/issue that lots of people bring up between Obi-Wan & Anakin is how Ani here clearly sees his master more like a father/parental figure, however later on (possibly not this movie but for sure in the next) Obi talks about how he sees his padawan more like a younger brother/sibling relationship, and that disconnect between their viewpoints of each other both leads into and feeds parts of the other conflict(s) between them. Also here in this scene in particular, Anakin is for sure going through some of his teenager puberty angst stuff.
