i love how the dog looks at the house is like "yeah fu%$ that...i'm staying out here." the horse in "the Nun" which is part of the same series does the same thing...it stops on the way to the location and is like "ok...fu$£ this...you can walk from here" why does lorraine do it? because helping people is worth it in her mind...

I remember watching this in the middle of the night with my mom and after watching it I could not go to sleep. I had my bedroom lights on that night, Bathsheba scared the shit out of me. This is personally one of my favorite horror films of all time.

Watching this in theaters was just another level, ngl, the BEST experience i ever had on any movie theater PERIOD. James Wan is such a great movie director and have done the best horror movies from the 21st century, and i will not be surprised if movies like The Conjuring end up beeing considered classics of horror films like The Exorcist and stuff alike in the future. The Conjuring is the best horror film of the 2010s, imo. It should have got some serious award consideration. Lili Taylor and Vera Fermiga crushed their roles and should have got acting nominations. And given that there are 10 spots, it deserved a Best Picture nod, too. And of course James Wan should have been nominated Best Director. The Academy must really be biased against horror if this great movie got overlooked.

Depends on the death I guess. She curse the land so that's why that's haunted. Some die and can't leave so that's haunted especially if its violent death. But others die and move on. Probably most do so there's no haunting then.

You know I'm often very contemptuous of these exorcism films, especially with the Warrens, but really I watched it on netflix on a very small screen and it isn't the same as seeing it in a theater or even with decent speakers so I have been overly harsh of it in my head. I love the characters of Ed and Lorraine; I love the actors as well. Because of watching reactor films I'm always happy now to see Annabelle and Elise. Its actually good fun and the scares are scary if silly. Ed can be a cocky jerk but also quite charming, Lorraine is my favorite; even the outfits work for me. I love this series.

The scariest part of this movie for me is not the possession scene. It's what's happening inside the house before the possession happened. I couldn't even sleep for 5 days thinking about the scene were the entity grabs their feet while they're sleeping
