"Seeing isn't believing. Believing is seeing." Fun Fact: The dance that Tim Allen does during the montage before his second Christmas Eve was improvised and done in one take. The director kept it because it was so good. Tool Man Fact: During his tour of the workshop, Scott Calvin tries out a tool belt then shakes his head as if to indicate that tools aren't for him. This is a reference to Tim Allen's then-hit TV show, Home Improvement (1991) where his character's life (Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor) revolved around tools. Everywhere All At Once Fact: Elves are scattered throughout the movie in Scott and Charlie's world. The little blonde girl walking away from the window at the opening of the movie, the little boy putting his jacket on and wearing a red scarf as Scott and Charlie are led to their seat in Denny's, the girl walking behind the bench when Scott has kids lined up at Charlie's soccer game, the girl in the purple coat who walks by Scott and Charlie in the park when Scott wants Charlie to stop talking about the Santa Claus, and the attentive little boy in the blue turtleneck behind Charlie's desk during show and tell are all elves. They even show up as a group at the end of the movie when Scott flies away from the Miller house, they are the kids who run and skip off. Go back and let me know when you find them all.

Love this movie!!! And I'm showing my age here, but when he was spitting out all of his names, he said Topo Gigio. He was mimicking Ed Sullivan. Ed had a variety show in the 60's - 70's and one character was a puppet named Topo Gigio. Boy, I'm old!!!

Don't you mean that the team's name is the Des Moines Buccaneers?? BTW, Tool Time was the name of the fictional DIY show on the sitcom that Tim Allen starred in, the name of the show itself was "Home Improvement"

This was perhaps the breakout role for David Krumholtz (Bernard). He had only done two films prior to this, in small roles. One of my favorite roles of his is the teen comedy "10 Things I Hate About You."

11:36 "What the heck is that thing?" It's acts as a six wheeled longboard (a long skateboard) when the front is down and as a four wheeled handlebar skateboard (kinda like a scooter) when the front is folded upward. He's just sitting on it, because well, he can.

Gotta love how the world finds a way to create an idea of this loving, unselfish, giving person, clothes him in a pretty red uni, makes him the 'spirit of Christmas', pushes Jesus aside and His 'red robe', and makes the kids believe in him instead. Brilliant! On a side note, this is definitely one of the best Christmas movies. The next two aren't as good but they do have some endearing value.

You're looking remarkably well for someone who's had the flu. Looking forward to your take on this film. The Ed Sullivan Show broadcast nationwide until March 28, 1971. It introduced the Beatles to America and showcased a variety of things, from portions of top Broadway plays/musicals to singing groups, to circus acts to comedians. If it was highly entertaining, Ed Sullivan had it on his show. One of the things he had on many times was a little Italian puppet mouse named Topo Gigio. Do a search on KZbin and enjoy.

I’ve seen a couple stations battle the copyright issue different ways… I’ve seen it where they invert the screen so it’s backwards, I’ve seen where they do an overlay so it’s a little harder to see but it works I think, and I’ve seen them slow down or speed up the audio just a little bit. I don’t know how it all works but I have noticed those things on other stations and thought I would share

Warner Brothers is the worst for copyright. They have fine stuff, but they apparently don't want to increase the value of their brand by keeping older properties marketable and allowing them to become part of the cultural narrative. I seem to recall Grumpy Old Men was pretty good, but I don't have the inclination to watch it because it's not relevant in the culture. I haven't been reminded of its significance through content like yours.
