I was going to comment about it myself -- @chessplayer6632 is just a few moves ahead of me and beat me to it. I wonder if any of the writers among the movies and the show intentionally worked off that name association. There's an awful lot of evidence to support your theory -- maybe some of it was a concious decision on at least one writer's part.

The first movie Bernard ran the whole north Pole when Scott was becoming Santa in Chicago. I believe that santa is more of a figure head who just delivers gifts. While that is why there's always a head elf who runs the day to day work.

49:56 That confirms my theory that Santa in the Santa Clause universe is a cognito hazard. Adults do know about him, but reality doesn't allow them to consciously acknowledge his existance

11:40 But as a kid, Charlie said he wanted to go into the family business, meaning he wanted to be Santa someday. And yes, I'm aware he was a kid when he said that and he's an adult now, but this franchise was meant to be fun, and now it isn't anymore. Heck, they even made that little girl from the first movie who slept on the couch waiting for Santa into a jobless loser. This TV series ruins the fun of the first movie for me.
@georgeoldsterd8994Ай бұрын
Agreed. And they totally wasted the opportunity to actually give Mrs.Claus a real personality by considering the daughter for the role of Santa. Sure, she'd be a Ms.Santa, but still. It'd work especially well in today's environment of women empowerment, and because quite a few groups already exist in real life advocating for an increased presence/ visibility of Mrs.Santa, or even an outright replacement of Santa with a female version.

This is more of a flaw with the sequels than with this show, but it always baffled me that Carol had to move to the North Pole at all. Obviously, its easier for Scott to work if he's at the North Pole, but the first movie made it clear he could work from anywhere for most of the year as long as he was back in the North by Christmas. I understand him as a single father who no longer lives with his kid moving between the first and second film, but there was no reason for Carol to abandon her teaching job. Scott could have moved back to his hometown for most of the year and headed up to the North Pole during the holidays. It even would have fit the theme of the second movie, where his moving to the North Pole full time still caused roadblocks in his relationship with Charlie, and being closer by could have mitigated some of that issue.

I theorize Santa Claus is a Thought Form being created by Christmas magic. And Thought Forms are shaped by the conscious and unconscious mind of people (especially children). So, every time people's collective Belief about Santa Claus changes, Santa d13s metaphysically and is reborn to line up with that Belief. Which is why, sometimes they lose their Minds, or have no name, or have to get married. It is the collective belief and thoughts of children that run Santa Claus. The Fate this Video speaks off.
@oldmanmammoth5364Ай бұрын
My thoughts on it are that the problem with being immortal is being unable to change or at the very least being slow to change. Now for other Celestial beings like Mother Nature and Father Time (who we both see in the 2nd and 3rd movie) this is not a problem. However with Santa there is no time for them to slowly adapt, so every time the world changes a new Santa takes their place. Think about how our perception of Christmas has changed over the centuries, not only does a Santa have to change with those times to keep up with modern trends and technology but also adapt to the ever changing rules of morality. I mean could you imagine a 2024 Christmas with a Santa with the same views of Naughty and Nice as he had in 1820? A series of Santa’s makes it so that the world always has a Father Christmas that fit with the world they live in. I’d be more worried about the previous Santa’s being judgy about how lenient their replacement is about certain things. Sorta a combination of the Toy Santa from the 2nd film and every grandparent who talks about “their day.” Just for the record I have not seen a Santa Clause film in over a decade.

Memorial day? I remember having a day off from school. There was also one time my posh uncle got mad because I asked what day it was. But I've literally never seen any celebratory tradition surrounding it. My family didn't even have big dinners specifically for Memorial day. Whatever it's supposed to commemorate is probably something normal people commemorate on the fourth and only people who get 30 vacation days a year can afford to put up a fus about it. Weird that bankers and teachers get extra holidays. Unacceptable that they belittle people with real jobs for not having the same privileges.

@PugMugsly21 күн бұрын
A few people have mentioned the AI, so I'm going to respond to you with a longer comment than necessary to serve as a broader response, lol. So when I was working on the title cards, I really wanted to pull vintage images of creepy old Christmas cards. HOWEVER, when I was pretty far in the process, I discovered that some designs that were commonly passed around on various sites as authentic vintage images were ACTUALLY vintage-style art drawn by modern artists that had been stolen -- and in some cases, reproduced. At that point, I didn't want to proceed with using vintage images unless I could verify they were legit. Which would take time. I use Pixlr as a Photoshop-esque tool for thumbnails, and they offer an image generator. So I used the image generator, and it came up with some hilarious and wild images. I liked that they had vintage vibes, but also appeared weird and unsettling. I'm not married to using AI, so I appreciate the feedback.

@ I get what you were going for but even but all gen ai does is steal even if offered through places like adobe photoshop and pixlr so while you were trying to avoid other sites using other artists work weather stolen or replicated you used a system that automatically scrapes millions of artists work and smashes them together without payment or credit and no way for artists to opt out or stop their work from being stolen while I get your intentions were well meaning they have sadly been misplaced
