FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if KZbin denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

V is wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament on November 5th, 1605, in an attempt to restore a Catholic monarch to the throne of England. In the UK, Nov 5th is still known as Guy Fawkes Day.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people." Fun Fact: The domino scene, where V (Hugo Weaving) tips over black and red dominoes to form a giant letter V, involved 22,000 dominoes. It took four professional domino assemblers 200 hours to set it up. Location Location Fact: The cast and crew were only allowed to shoot near the British Parliament and Big Ben (the clock tower) from 0000 to 0430, and they could only stop traffic for four minutes at a time. Man On Fire Fact: For the scene when V emerges from Larkhill, stunt double Chad Stahelski literally walked through fire, wearing just a special fire resistant gel and a g-string. Stahelski's body temperature had to be lowered before the scene was shot, and luckily, it was three degrees below zero the night of the shoot. Fifteen minutes before a take, he would put on ice cold flame resistant clothing, and once he took them off, he would be covered with fire resistant gel which had been icing all day long.

You're super knowledgeable. Much appreciated. Kane Hodder had a 43 second sustained flame stunt, and he suffered from 3rd degree burns. He set a world record.

Don't forget, the nurse said he didn't have eyes but could see. Nothing good could come from seeing what is left of his face. And in a fire that intense, that's not the only things missing. His love for Evey would only be platonic, not consummated if you catch my drift, and when he told Evey he was going down that tunnel to meet his maker, he wasn't talking about God, but the one he had a rose for. And the 1 tile that didn't fall showed him had plan had a flaw, and so he let Evey decide. He also had that 1 tile on the train car when he was showing it to Evey laying on a box. The movie was way over written, but that's part of the fun.

In this story the government used fear to build itself into a tyrannical dictatorship. Saying "governments should fear their people" to me meant that if people exercised their rights and freedoms properly, without total compliance, the government would often be humbled and reminded that they are there to *serve* their people. Not the other way around. V basically explains this in his speech where he says, "but then, truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty you need only look into a mirror." He was basically throwing it back to the people and saying, "you dug yourselves into this ditch by allowing yourselves to be controlled by fear." Compliance where there should not be compliance is dangerous. Wanting security and comfort is all well and good, until you have to give up certain rights just to have that. This lesson is very profound and parallels a lot of events currently happening all around the world today, imo. Overall good reaction though, questioning his methods was definitely fair. But it is hard to fathom a more "peaceful" way when you are dealing with tyrants that are willing to use any means necessary to retain their power.

This was based on a graphic novel written in the early '80s by Alan Moore, who also wrote Watchmen, and was essentially a critique of the Thatcher government of the time. It's been somewhat updated, but the core theme is the same, and the whole Valerie section is practically verbatim from the book. It's definitely worth reading.

I don't know why I'm always surprised at this point by Americans not having heard of bonfire night or Guy Fawkes, as it seems to be pretty much universal.

During the reading of the diary. Delia the doctor mentioned V having heightened reflexes and speed I think. So he had a physical advantage over all those men those obviously not invincible. That's why he was able to take all them men out before they had a chance to reload. In 'real time' that scene would have been insane to watch him move through those men with knives and hand to hand skills. Great reaction! Discovered your channel today.

"i dont think anyone should fear anyone" is one of the most interesting comments about that line that ive heard thus far. No surprise either that the young kids in the comment section were so offended by that comment. You mean you DONT think your own government is your worst enemy? not allowed!

I think that all governments, even relatively humanitarian ones, should ALWAYS fear their people. The legitimacy of power should be constantly questioned and examined by the masses and if found to be illegitimate, those in power should be removed with violence if necessary. To take a position of authority should be to accept the full responsibility of holding people's lives and liberties in your hands. That means being ready to suffer the consequences of abusing that authority. That should be scary. If it doesn't scare you then your power is illegitimate and you should be removed. That's what a democracy actually is and why we in the US don't live in one. We never have.

He was definitely enhanced, probably something to do with the testing they were doing at the detention center, and he probably can't feel pain because his nerves were fried due to burns, so it makes sense he was able to power through so much damage, though in the end it wasn't enough to keep him alive.

as someone who is not white, yes sonetimes violence is the answer. many people had to take their rights back, it wasn’t just given to them without violence. i don’t think it’s always the answer but i think sometimes, especially if you’ve been brought violence first, it’s the answer.

Love your reactions dude but when you said you didn't think the government should fear the people, it hit me a bit hard. I'm not American, I live in a country with one of the highest minimum wages in the world, Universal Healthcare, Gun control (we have them but regulate it), free education except our version of 'college' and University's are heavily subsidized, and consistency rank above the United States in almost everything. We have that because the government does fear the people, not from violence, but from getting thrown out. We can remove members of our Parliament very easily if they don't meet standards, even our top level 'leader'. A decade ago we went through 4 in a couple of years because we demanded more and better.
