Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if KZbin denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.

Usually, I see so many people say she shouldn’t have been able to take Quicksilver out, but they forget that Quicksilvers mind works just as fast as he can run, and she’s an omega level Telepath. She saw his intent just as fast as he thought it, which is why she was able to move the debris in anticipation of his attack

I think her telepathy played a part in it but people forget she's also incredibly fast. The Phoenix force can travel across the universe in seconds. Did you notice that after Quicksilver stop time she was the only thing still moving. She was also able to redirect storms lightning after she had already discharged it.

Magneto can move due to the earth's magnetic field. It's not as quick as if there's actual metal around him, but it still enables him to move.

This movie was initially planned to be 2 movies and a third to give space and development to the young X-Men with Spin-Offs. It was confirmed that The Hellfire Club was going to be in the 2 Dark Phoenix movies. But the Disney and Fox merger happened and it had to be discarded to reboot and introduce the X-Men to the MCU. The Aliens in this movie were originally going to be Skrulls and the third act (and large parts of the second and small parts of the first) were reshot. Some say that the ending was removed because it looked like Captain Marvel, and that's kinda true, but it was also changed because it left an open ending that was not going to be resolved ever again. Also, the movie was going to develop the Aliens more, to add, the original cut was confirmed to be 2 Hours and 40 Minutes long. The third act was really large in scale, there was battle in the UN and part of New York, but there were not many of the X-Men like: Magneto, Storm, Beast & Quicksilver. Also in the final draft, Magneto FINALLY found out that Quicksilver was his son, but he couldn't because... surprise, surprise, and Spoiler, Evan Peters was working on WandaVision, so he couldn't be in Dark Phoenix. The case of this movie is very interesting and very sad, it really would have been very epic to see 2 movies with the Lore of Dark Phoenix and The Hellfire Club. I don't understand why the director (Simon Kinberg) is very hated, I understand that he did The Last Stand, F4ntastic and Dark Phoenix, but he really wanted to do something good with the young X-Men tbh. From what we got from this movie, yes, it's weak, but I liked it. It is a summary of what could have been an incredible movie. I really wish we can get the original cut of this movie one day. Not sure what you’re talking about with evan Peters, he was in Dark Phoenix. dark Phoenix began filming in 2017, did reshoots in late 2018…. and Wandavision began filming in late 2019… so none of those are connected

What I wanted to say there is that yes, he was in Dark Phoenix, but not in a very large part of it, he is literally mising through the biggest part, in 2018 he was making deals with Marvel for WandaVision. In addition, the reshoots of Dark Phoenix began in late September early October of 2018. Quicksilver would have appeared in the 3rd act (United Nations or The Train one) if he had not been doing his deal with Marvel. In the video i added to the comment i left, it explains that he wasn't available beacuse of schedule conflicts, probably beacuse of his appearence in WandaVision. And yes, Simon Kinberg said he wanted Magneto to find out that Quicksilver was his father, but due to Peter's schedule conflicts he couldn't so he had to drop that

What I like about the X-Men movies is the fact that they never tried to follow the MCU's formula or its tropes, especially after it became a trend They never relied on nostalgia, the tone was always consistent, and they've always focused on the present And Dark Phoenix kept that way They kept their sense of individuality. Even the score was different in each movie

I think everyone always forgets she is telekinetic and psychic. That combo is a deadly force when she is truly able to control it, hence why she is the "Perfect host" for the Phoenix Force. Really curious how they will tackle the X-Men franchise in the future movies.

I believe, the aliens were originally supposed to be Skrulls, hence the shapeshifting, and the ending got changed too, because it would've been too similar to Captain Marvel, which came out around the same time too.

Xavier has been made villainous in the comics before which I guess is what they were going for with him in this film, but it does feel very rushead and out of nowhere, it isn't really earned, everyone just hates him all of a sudden for making vaguely "bad" decisions. The school changing to "Jean Grey" is also a thing from the comics that also doesn't feel earned here.

And one theory might explain why Hank looks so young, and blue when transformed into the Beast. He didn't use the serum with his DNA in First Class, but rather the serum made for Raven. And we know she ages slowly and is blue, so... They are forever linked and he will always remember her. I really like this movie, but I understand that it had so much more potential. Rumor has it that Disney and Kevin Feige undermine its production, causing it to be reshot and re edited, thus the confusing and "bad" third act.

The X-Men franchise always gets criticized, knowing majority of these movies where shadowed by the other MCU movies that was released at the same time. That pretty much sums up the inconsistencies on the storytelling for these movies. The MCU world is connected in a way but Marvel always likes to keep things current and just doesn't seem to stay true to the original storytelling from the comics.

The timelines are kinda messy bc in apocalypse jean already posesses the phoenix force but in this one it's not comfirmed or denied if she fused w phoenix. my guess is, she partially had it in apocalypse but fully fused w it later in space, hence why that ominous entity is drawn to her.

In the comics when she first experienced her mutant abilities was when she seen her best friend die and she was able to listen to her mind as she was dying; her parents are actually alive but missed opportunity to include in the movie about her first time experiencing her psychic ability. Her true power resides in the unconscious part of her psychic ability when she was young, hence the Phoenix force took notice, but didn't truly emerge with the Phoenix when she went on the space mission.

@@razz2552 @Razz yea like u said the phoenix took notice of her when she linked her mind w her dying friend, annie but in doing so she was being dragged along w her. and it was from that moment that the entity realised it resonates perfectly w jean so it lended her some of its energy to save her kept an eye on her. it was later on when she went on a space mission a dying jean asked for help and the phoenix answer. it promised her that by touching her hand it will grand her the most thing she wishes for and it was obviously saving her fellow x men so it took her form, memories, and personality and saved her body somewhere deep down a body of water (not sure where exactly) but all of this happened in the comics what im confused about in the movie is that the ominous force that bonded w her is supposed to be phoenix obv as it happened in comics but the apocalypse timeline shows she already did. so some say that wasn't the phoenix but rather another force that corrupted her phoenix force and some believe it WAS full phoenix that was drawn it self inside her (sorry if this makes no sense bc idek)

Jeans body was below in Jamaican bay when Phoenix decided to clone Jean's body, memories, personality and absorbed her consciousness. Then left Jean below the bay in a cocoon of her powers to save her. That's when Phoenix learned all her new emotions, ultimately commiting suicide, when she became dark after fighting to save the M'Kraan Crystal. That's when part of jeans consciousness journeyed to the afterlife when she met Death dressed as White Phoenix of the crown. There's still more to the complex story. That's all i can say is complex ☺

Famke did a great job playing jean. especially in last stand, she portrayed an evil counter side but i also like sophie's performance her acting could've been slightly better but she did display more vulnerability and depth.

I think they did a T O N of reshoots because of what other Marvel movies were doing and Marvel wasn't going to let FOX do what it was doing in Captain America so this movie suffered with the "aliens" being vague. Jennifer Lawrence hated being Mystique and wanted OUT of the role, but was in for X amount of movies, so she requested they kill her off as early as possible in the movie. It's entertaining, but suffered a lot from not being able to flesh out any of the secondary story lines.

This movie could've been done so much better without those weird aliens.. Have you ever watched the animated series from the 90,s It's on Disney+ there's a whole section of it that deals with the Phoenix and aliens in space.. .. With the starjammers.. and other things... The movie wasn't terrible it could've been done alot better.... whats quite interesting about the 90s cartoon I'm talking about ,,,they actually are coming out with another season of it... I believe it's gonna be called X-Men 97 Soon to be released on Disney+ all based off the characters from that show..I believe it's going to have the same animation to.. Watch it if you ever get a chance I believe there's five seasons of it so far

I'm not sure if it's ever been confirmed or discussed but I was always certain I heard that mutants or those with the X-gene not only had abilities but aged relatively slower than the normal human being. Nothing on Logan level but I always thought that theory was canon.

I think what hurt this movie is the Fox-Disney merger.. the filmakers had to do a lot of reshoots .. the original cut was supposed to be two part with part 1 ending Jean destroying an entire fleet of skrulls spaceship probably more spectacular than what Captain Marvel did to the Kree spaceships ... then Jean crash landing on Jamaica Bay the same way Original Jean in X2 and comics Jean dies and ressurected as the dark phoenix.

Yeah in days of future past they said before Logan went back in time that he will change everything some of them may never be born some may die. So basically the timeline reset when he went back in time and these are all movies of that new timeline. Although people think that things happen to us no matter what like Xavier losing his hair you can restart the timeline but some things are just meant to happen and will always happen in different ways.

I could actually see the Dark Phoenix saga being a centerpiece of the MCU like the Infinity Saga, stretching over multiple phases. The Fantastic 4 and the Avengers are both involved in the Dark Phoenix saga in the comics, and of course the Kree and the Skrulls.

again, new mutants is NOT cannon. do not watch. disney announced that they will reboot the X-MEN before they released new mutants as a stand alone movie. so if you wanna watch new mutants as part of the fox mutants franchise, its not. there is NO connection to the X-men whatsoever no character relation nothing. disney wiped out any connection to the x-men before releasing it thats why it was like edited 15 times and reshooted like 75% of it before its release and was garbage still.

Dark Phoenix wasn't as bad as everyone said.... but... still among the worst X-Men movies. Still... not as bad as Apocalypse or X-Men Origins: Wolverine. New Mutants and The Last Stand were both better. But not by a lot. Together these ones are the "bad" X-films. Last Stand is right on the margin for me between not good and great. My rankings: 1. Days of Future Past 2. Logan 3. First Class 4. X-2: X-Men United 5. Deadpool 6. The Wolverine 7. Deadpool 2 8. X-Men ^- very good or great films 9. The Last Stand - meh, could've been worse 10. New Mutants - meh, could've been better bad or downright awful films -v 11. Dark Phoenix 12. Apocalypse 13. Origins: Wolverine There's also an FX series called Legion that takes place in the same Fox X-verse, I think. Or at least it may. Doesn't have much at all to do with the movies, but Legion is an X-Men character. Actually he's Charles Xavier's son, completely nuts, and one of the most powerful mutants ever if not the most powerful. But there is no direct or explicit connection at all to the movies, other than them using the word "mutant." Pretty interesting show. There was also another show on Fox called The Gifted that I never saw - which I think is similarly disconnected from the movie world, even though one of the characters in it is Blink, who showed up in X-Men Days of Future Past (the Chinese girl who could create teleportation portals)

The problem is that they did almost the same mistakes here like the ones they did in Last Stand. But with more budget. Sophie Jean´s wasnt interesting or even make us care for her. Sophie performance was always without emotion, so when she become the Pheonix there was no difference. We do not feel the difference between Jean and Pheonix.

It was actually in the comics the second time Jean died they turned the name of the school to Jean Grey School for Higher Learning .. also the phoenix part of this movie kinda more accurate to the comics and that it made Jean basically a God instead of just a class 5/omega level mutant with a split persona.

Honestly, the X-Men films are either hit or miss. You have amazing films like X2 and Days of Future Past but also the worst like Origins: Wolverine and Apocalypse. Haven’t seen Dark Phoenix but there’s really not point too.

They really messed up Apocalypse as a villain. Magneto’s story was the only one that mattered while most characters were underused and weak. Storm is basically a nameless horseman that you only recognize cause of her hair. Too much emphasis on Mystique.

The direction in this movie was so poor, and with reason, a newbie guy. who wrote The Last Stand, this was basically a repeat. JLaw was so done with her role, that's why the poor makeup rushed death moment Cast deserved better send off. Want to see the Phoenix storyline well done? Watch the X-Men 90's tv show.

What are you talking about? The Last Stand’s Phoenix story is based on the stereotypical myth that people with dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) are homicidal. This story was based on the real effects of unresolved trauma.

It definitely had potential and studio interference and a forced 3rd act reshoot hurt the film. Could've benefited from a middle movie to flesh out the new younger cast but it's fine. Wouldn't rewatch but the music is definitely fire! The Xperiments from Dark Phoenix album by Hans Zimmer fire too.

The movie was a box office and critical disappointment, making $260 million dollars against a $200 Million dollar budget, and it's all Simon Kinberg's fault, having tarnished This one fine epic film franchise, and when Disney acquired Fox 2 years ago, all X Men films and Spinoffs were cancelled.

Charles felt off in this movie but not because he kept a secret from Jean this whole time but it's cause his ego and fame got the best out of him in this one and how he was putting Jean at risk like in the space scene instead of just sending Nightcrawler and Quicksilver to save the dude so yeah.

As a big X men fan I must say this movie was so disappointing, to sad Marvel had to prioritize Captain Marvel and forced Fox to change a lot of things in this movie, the villain is awful, there are no great battle scenes, Jean Grey didn't show herself as the Phoenix and where's the Hellfire Club? I expected much for this movie and I went so disappointed.

I didn't like this movie as much as I thought I would but I think it's just because Jean is throwing a temper tantrum in this whole movie. I really didn't like the actress how she portrayed Jean either. I just personally hate the actress that played Jean and I just didn't think she did a very good job.

Dark Phoenix is the least great one out of all them all but still good, and a solid ending to the franchise Imo Simon Kinberg was kinda thrown into the deepend doing a 200 million dollar movie for his first directurial debut but did a solid job not nearly as good as Bryan Singer, Matthew Vaughn or Brett Rather but good and TBH I'm happy they made one last X-Men movie before Disney took over Fox at least it was a not great but solid last entry in the franchise and it had some great action sequences and Han Zimmers soundtrack was bloody awesome as always and New Mutants I liked think it's good nothing outstanding but good characters good horror elements and a solid movie in general Imo it's definitely worth a watch but don't expect a masterpiece

Good things about this movie: 1. the soundtrack. 2. some of the visual FX were decent. 3. costumes, makeup, color grading, direction, etc. all not great, but at least up to their previous standard i.e. better than Apocalypse. 4. everything else that was better than Apocalypse. Things that suck about this movie: literally everything else. Bonus thing that sucked: Jennifer Lawrence appears even more bored, phoning-it-in, and out of place than she did in the last one. Bonus thing that was good: they killed her off early in the film.
