I've been rafting 4 times. The last time I went rafting with a-hole brother in law who decided to flip me out of the raft in the most dangerous part of the river. For holy cripes sakes I've never been rafting again.

My parents took me with them when they went on one of their anniversaries down at the New River Gorge in West Virginia. They had it set up to take a picture of each raft at a certain spot. It was supposed to be a great shot of us coming down the rapids like badasses, but in the midst of all those badasses was me, looking like a hostage being actively waterboarded. The memories are better than the picture though at least 🤷🏻‍♀️ Plus, my mom can laugh at me for looking like a scared bitch baby on that trip, but I can make fun of her for getting lost on the mountain when we hiked Mount Washington up in New Hampshire (she survived so now it's funny)

White water rafting really just isn’t dangerous. The vast majority if not all rafting facilitators make everyone wear a PFD and a helmet.
