Hope you get to experience the Type R on track more often. I’ve been racing my FWD car in time Attack for a while now. If you need help you set up or anything just ask dude! Some pretty basic mods can turn the Type R into a Beast!

Auto X is no joke. It takes lots of practice to get it right. Once you master auto X, driving to win on a real track is actually easier. Been there and done that. And now, I watch other people do it cuz I'm broke.

i learned manual in that parking lot, as a matter a fact purchased my Mazdaspeed without knowing how to that same day back in 07, had a friend drive it to the stadium lot where he thought me i then took it home, Japanese tires are the best!

Advan Fleva V701 have been available here in South East Asia countries for almost 3 years. Superb midrange UHP tires. Will become very noisy after 20,000km, but grip is still superb. Correction = all the tires tested is for road use. None of them is specifically designed for track use.

Good vid. Would've preferred the front view camera to be the bigger one during the laps, but still good. Not sure what gear you were in for that las hairpin, but it felt like a downshift would've helped you get out of it quicker.

As a day goes by the track did dry up so it makes it a little easier to drive and the same time you gotten used to the track driving as many times as you did so you got to take that into factor and since it was your car you sure want to beat the BMW's so I don't know if that's a fair comparison

The Advan Sport V105 on your type R sits quite a bit above the fleva V701 in terms of performance. The V701 is available in asian region for awhile now, some user feedback online suggest that it isn’t performing well in their touge runs and understeer way too early.

That’s what FWD does my 96 non turbo Volvo 850 can handle corners like a beast just because of FWD so it’s actually not slow on curvy roads

Andy Cheng I don’t know about completely different, because they share common skill mastery and principles - looking ahead-planning-executing, weight transfer, traction circle. The difference is in the speed and I’d say, it’s easier to plan ahead on a road course because the course never changes so you know when the turn is coming every time after you’ve leaned the track. With auto-x, it specifically tests how quickly you can learn the course since you’ll never get the same course twice in your lifetime. I’d also say it challenges how quick you can see-plan-execute because the courses can be tighter so you have to process info quicker.

Most autocross courses keep you on second and third. The really annoying ones are the ones that make you bounce of the limiter constantly because some sections are too slow for that 2nd to 3rd transition.

more factors than that. Look at the course. It's almost dry by the time Dustin got to drive his type R. Also, Dustin did enough laps to learn the course better. I agree that the type R is better than those bottom line shit BMWs, but there is more than one factor here.
