E36 LTW with an s54 is a great build. LTW’s are becoming more rare to begin with and with an s54 under the hood it’s even better. Driven and built some decent e36 chassis cars and his looks the part. Really digging what you guys are doing with these 944’s. The o7k seems like such a great alternative to the sad stock powerplant, plus the 5cyl sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing this!

That new setup on the 07k 944 was rippin'! I will say though, the lack of coverage on that sweet Chevy SS in the background was appalling. I heard someone say those could run 1:52's at Mid-O...

You think this motor swap is more realistic comparable in price to a LS swap for a 944 Turbo that had an engine fire in need of a good swap. I love the idea of a I5 swap with a turbo.

So glad to have another video of yours in my feed! Welcome back!! It was also cool to see the PE3 Dash in action. So excited to get mine! Sorry about the issues on the car though. Nothing kills the vibe of a track day/weekend more than mechanical issues (which is the whole reason I’m 07k-swapping to begin with lol)
@BoostBrothersGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The dash is great especially for the price. Once that tee got really bad we started losing pressure in the cooling system and the temp started creeping up. The whole screen flashed red and said “high engine temp 228” etc. Lots of ways to set it up with alarms and different fields.
@apike_723 жыл бұрын
@@BoostBrothersGarage that’s great! Considering my mk2 doesn’t have any warnings on the dash from the factory, the PE3 dash will ensure my swap stays safe 🙌🏻

What is the revised suspension geometry? I couldn't find a video on that.
@BoostBrothersGarage3 жыл бұрын
We haven’t made a video yet but it’s coming. It raises the suspension pickup points to fix the roll center on lowered cars. Helps with traction on corner exit pretty dramatically.

Im really interested in doing this setup on my 87 944 turbo. Can a person hire you to do the whole swap or is it a kit that a person can just purchase? Also be nice to start with a fresh engine are they hard to get rebuilt
@sergesvz3 жыл бұрын
How much boost can 07k handle? Also I believe you want to stiffen up the rear and make the front softer to gain more oversteer. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@BoostBrothersGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I misspoke there haha. 20 psi is about the limit on a stock block. With forged internals they can make 1000hp.

Wow 20 is quite a bit for stock motor.

Boost Brothers: Sorry folks, burnt out, can't do many videos! Also Boost Brothers: We back! Have an aural feat on us, also various camera angles and a tech teaser! *everybody liked that* One idea: I think using a non-360 camera for the rear suspension viewing is better. The de-360-ifying creates weird distortion artefacts, which make it difficult to judge what is moving and what is camera (at least for me!). And as always #fivecylinderisbestcylinder ;)
@BoostBrothersGarage3 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I originally decided to do that hoping that I could see cars behind Alan and do fun stuff with the edit. Instead it ended up just being a worse shot than the GoPro would have been. Oh well, I’ll find some cool ways to use it moving forward!

@latentwagen86443 жыл бұрын
Seems like this 944 wasn't being driven flat out, either. More rpm left on the table, and lots left in terms of driving line, braking, and shifting. It is a test run, after all! New suspension, new season, etc... Driver, a good first tip would be to get your hands at "quarter to 3"... and from what I can see, use your left hand more when cornering to the right. Can't wait to see what this car will do as you sort things out!!

Cheap things are made in China, not because China can't make quality items (although the quality still isn't up there with the likes of Japan, Germany, Korea and USA) I'd say it's far closer than many would like to admit. Most of what we use is made in China, we just notice the broken things and point that out "OH Made in China...no surprise there!" - but we never notice the stuff that works well and doesn't break. I think whomever decided to use a plastic part there instead of brass etc, was just asking for trouble by being cheap.
