Felicia Fullwood that’s awesome! For sure if we are ever back! We had so little time to explore this time around. I’m sure there are lots of great spots

Got here by looking for Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 videos and I stayed because I actually enjoyed your content! I want to start vlogging and I couldn't decide if I should get Tamron or the Zeiss 16-50mm f/4 for vlogging, but after watching this I'm definitely going for Tamron!

That’s awesome! Thanks so much! The tamron will be SO worth it

Would definitely be interested in more videos like this, I like your style of vlogging. Found your video from searching from the 17-28 (and previously from manual lenses) for the A7III. Looking to buy a wider lens and trying to see if the 17-28 is a good wide angle zoom. My fear is the 17mm isn't wide enough to film in tight spaces, and the 28mm isn't tight enough to film medium shots (I usually go for a 35mm for mediums) - but does 1mm wide/ 6mm focal length really make a difference in your usage? I saw you also use the 16-35. Thanks for making the video!
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
That is so awesome to hear!! Yeah the 16 vs 17mm is pretty minimal for me. If we were talking about one of the Laowa FF Ultrawides, there may be a difference, but this is negligible for me.

loved the video - like the look of the lens but especially because of the filters. Do you think there is a way to achieve a similar look with just one screw on filter?

the most cinematic i've seen the tamron look! but now i really don't know whether to go for some art primes or the set of tamrons i really love the look of both now, Any suggestions? I just barely got an a7sii and am looking at lenses. Love the channel!

honestly, I think the filters don't look very good on it. other than that it's a pretty sweet video. The filters seem to degrade the overall quality

Hey Austin, awesome trailer to the wedding and vlog! What's the background story on that record store? As for the vlog setup, for me its a little large, but if people can vlog with the 1dx mark ii then why the hell can't someone vlog with this setup! lol Have you tried out one of those gradient filters?
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! It’s Jack White’s record store, and there’s just a lot of history pieces there, and they produce vinyl from the live performances there which is pretty cool. I feel like it’s large but still manageable for me since I don’t use any kind of tripod. And yes! I have a few. Those beach shots had the gradient Nd. I’m interested in making a video about it but I don’t want to just copy Armando Fierra’s video

What a great content, i really enjoyed your vlog. i have one question that did you use your camera IBIS when you vlogged with tamron cuz it looks kind of shacky ?

Dope vlog! Any advice or tips on where you purchased your lens? I've been back ordered for months now. B&H, Adoroma, and Amazon back ordered. Thanks in advance!

What I have done with these tamron lenses is search for a random third part seller on amazon, and usually there are a couple floating around

Hey have you tried the EOS HD color profiles? I really want to try out the 17-28 :)

Yep! I use EOS Pro HD for everything.

Maybe you wanna try the black satin instead of the pro mist. You'll get bloomy highlights but a bit more contrast in the shadows. Nice vlog btw, like the choice of music. 😊👍

Depends on several things including your codec. XAVC is pretty forgiving.

Not enough experience to put a definitive word on it, but it worked as well as any native Sony lens for me

Yeah, totally get the sentiment. The reality of it is that it’s certainly the most commercially viable thing we do. The hope is to expand our work more for sure 👍🏻

Do you vlog with a monitor? No flippy screen!
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
I’ll bring the ninja V along with me when we travel, but I don’t really use it to vlog with. I find that I’m usually happy with the results shooting without a flippy screen or a monitor. Especially now being ultra wide on at 17mm
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
It’s interesting because I feel that I’m one of the very few people that actually likes the articulating screen better than a flippy screen.
@michaeljimenez93455 жыл бұрын
@@AustinBlackvideo I just started toying around with the idea of vlogging. So far, my test shots with my a7iii seem fine, even handheld at 28mm. I do prefer full articulation to protect the screen, as I can flip it around to avoid scratches. I'll eventually pick up that 16-35 f4 or 17-28.
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
Michael Jimenez gotcha! For me, the flip out screen is a bit of a Problem for professional stuff so I just deal with not seeing anything vlogging. I think the 17-28 is much better having owned both 👍🏻👍🏻
@michaeljimenez93455 жыл бұрын
@@AustinBlackvideo The extra stop of light is a huge deal! Is it sharper as well? Only thing I think might be nice about the sony is the extra width and the 35mm, that being said, I have a 50mm so I'm not really that limited on the portrait focal length. And the tamron is cheaper!

Since you asked... I don't like the softness of the images with this filter. They don't look "cinematic" to me... they just look soft. Sorry.
@AustinBlackvideo5 жыл бұрын
Totally get it. The look definitely isn't for everyone, but in certain circumstances, it can certainly be more flattering on people, and also give you more of the film look
