One of the most beautiful cars ever made. I had one, and remembering it still makes my heart flutter.

Thanks for lavishing so much attention on that beautiful old continental. Older cars need to be kept running and kept beautiful, because it only has the effect of keeping our highways beautiful. In a sea of amorphous blobs that are modern cars, this continental really stands out.

Had to pause for a second to make a recommendation. I'm not sure how often you do paint decontamination, but the best investment you can make is called a Nanoskin Autoscrub sponge. It's a sponge with a synthetic rubber base that acts like a clay bar. Works just as well as actual clay, but can be cleaned, lasts longer and is WAAAAY faster. They are only about $10-$15 depending on what grade you go with. Bought one after reading some recommendations in a detailing forum and have never looked back. Just my .02, keep up the great work 👍
@JailGuide3 жыл бұрын
the worst thing about clay bars is tearing open the package only to have thebar land in the dirt...
@robj27043 жыл бұрын
@@JailGuide Yep. Drop it anywhere but on the surface you're working on and you have to just throw it in the trash or you'll be destroying the paint with all the grit you pick up.

Can you use just to detail car in good shape?I've got a 2014 lincoln its do for a wax.Ive used clay bar but not on it yet.I put wax on by hand buff off.
@Random122313 жыл бұрын
@@jd218 Absolutely. Nanoskin offers 3 grades depending on how bad your paint is. The Fine grade is perfect for newer vehicles / well kept paint. The biggest thing to remember is, just like with clay, be liberal with the detailing spray to keep the sponge lubricated. Also be sure to clean / rinse the sponge once per panel. Hope that helps 👍

Thank you for what you're doing to save this masterpiece. It tears my heart up in pieces to think that she was in mint condition when she was parked and neglected. Some people I'll just never understand.
@DUCKSAREEVILLLLLLLL2 жыл бұрын
Had the previous owner not parked it in the woods, this video could not have been made. Most of this vintage of cars, even Lincolns, would have been driven until the transmission or some other major part failed, and then junked a long time ago. Had he taken care of it, it would be far too expensive for most people to afford it, including Budget Buildz. Average price for these in just driveable condition is around $10,000.00, 20 times more than the $500.00 he paid for it. He is very lucky to have found this.

What a transformation! She's a beautiful thing, for sure, mate. It's amazing how the overall look of the car almost totally negates the battle scars and the odd spot where the moths got at her metalwork. You gotta find that 4th hubcap though, eh! Man, that's a beautiful car. You've done her proud, mate. I'll look forward to seeing more of how she goes from here.

Back when style and design meant something in the Automotive Industry.
@rudolfopadilla5353 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, now we get a lump of plastic and computer's. The metal we get is recycled a million times and it's thinner. Plastic is the biggest scam in automotive industries, when they start using it for engine's parts.

And in the beginning of that decade, Lincoln set the standard for styling for the entire industry that was still stuck in post-'50s excess. They also changed a lot of mechanical practices that had been in use for half of ever.

1969 was the last year for unibody Continentals and first year for the Mark III. So that year was probably a high point in Lincoln quality, at least in terms of materials and craftsmanship. Later in the 1970s there was cost saving and those Lincolns were not as well made but were still quality vehicles.
