This car brings back some fond memories for me. my parents bought an new one, red and red. It was a 352 with a/t. I took my drivers licenses test in it and pridefully drove my girlfriend to the prom in it. good memories! My favorite model of it was the fastback starliner, now that was styling! I always loved the grill treatment and matching taillight panel, you don't see that attention to detail now days. I was class of 61 as was the Galaxie.

The exterior work really made a dramatic difference. The dog dish hubcaps do look good but, I would add beauty rings to the wheels. That is my taste but others may disagree. I seem to remember the 390 cars having an emblem on the fender. It was a Thunderbird with 390 on it. Perhaps it was only on certain models. Looking forward to the next episode on this car.
@BudgetBuildz2 жыл бұрын
You read my mind! I was looking at pictures, thinking it needs beauty rings. Thanks for the suggestion!! Yessir, our ‘62 Thunderbird has the emblems on the fender but the Galaxie(atleast for ‘61) does not. My grandfathers ‘62 may have the 406 emblems but I can’t remember for sure. Thanks so much! This was a killer revival! I did the same thing on my 68 Galaxie Police Interceptor. All the work, the love, and dedication. Yeah, I don have one complaint: being multipart, these shoulda been titled with "Part One, Part Two,'" etc. Yes, the thumnails do differ, but some of us could not tell, becuase the main titles were all the same throughout. In a multi-part-multi-chapter series like this, do the titelization, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.. Some of we older gearheads are only working with halfa brain..

Back in the 60s we had two Galaxies. One had the 390 like this one. If you keep it under 65 on the road it will give you 18 mpg. When those secondaries begin to kick in, it will drop to 15 or 16. Last one we had was a '67 2 door with a 289 automatic. The 67 was easy on gas and was fine on the interstate. Our kids grew up with that Green 67 2 door. They loved that old car. We drove it for 11 or 12 years. Both of ours came new from the dealer. The 390 needed attention to the points about twice a year. The 289 needed a new water pump just about every other year. The bumpers used to get a little "parking lot rash." They cleaned up just as shown in the video with a little TLC.

Your videos are amazing. I’m going through them from the beginning. I already finished the Porsche and the truck. I’m not a professional detailer but I wanted to give you some suggestions. Be careful with your power washer. You can damage the paint or the car if it’s too close. So keep the spray at least 12” away. When you’re sanding, it’s best to do that by hand so you don’t burn through the paint. This is an old video so you’ve probably already heard this and/or perfected your craft. Keep up the videos. I love the cars and work you do. Having dad involved is so awesome too.

Nevr Dull is actually a product I've been using for years to bring old Chrome and other polished Metal parts back to live on my Motorbikes and so far it has allways worked a treat. You'll have to reuse it regularily if the part is allready pitted, like that bumper, since it will simply start to "bleed" rust again out of those damaged spots but it surely helps prolong the inevitable part refurbish or replacement for quite a bit.
