sure do, got a 72 out of Oklahoma City while doing a field job, paid 500 bucks, but mine was ex highway patrol with 460 interceptor in it, with factory ram air, the scoop was a nice touch, paint was flaking and showed the brown and tan 2 tone under so had to be repainted,

This deserves to be restored to its former glory, An true automotive icon of its history. Clint Eastwood drove one, so I imagine restoring this bad boy up and selling it to Clint Eastwood of course. And also I wouldn't mind putting a vehicle that is kind of inspired by this 1972 Gran Torino in one of my future games that I plan to create in Unreal Engine 5 of course. As a huge fan of classic/vintage automobiles, they deserve more love and care of course.

It's a 302 2V Windsor V8. The deck height is lower than a 351 Windsor(see how high the alternator bracket is located). Also, you can't confuse a Windsor with a Cleveland. The front timing cover and radiator hose location are totally different.

Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well kzbin.infoUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.

What a gem. My first car was a 72 Gran Torino, it was dark red, had the stripes on the side like Eastwoods in Gran Torino. In later years, I owned three 72 Torinos, one being a Country Squire wagon and a 1976 Gran Torino. Loved those cars. The engines came standard with either 351 Cleveland or 351 Windsor. Cleveland had small lugs while Windsor had fatter ones. My 76 had a 390 4 barrel.

The Torino cleaned up great! The colour was called "Persimmon". Had one and had to match the paint to replace the drivers side door after an idiot backed into it. It wasn't red or orange, but a neat colour, somewhere in the middle. Yours looked like the hood may have been replaced at some point. Ford really worked that bodystyle over throughout the 70's, with the Cougar, Elite, and 1977-79 Thunderbird.

My first car was a 72 Gran Torino (coupe). It had a 302/C4. I do remember that even in the late 70's, when I owned it, the front coil springs needed replacing. I did that on the fronts, and put a set of coil over (helper) shocks in back.

Brings back memories I had the exact same car 30 years ago. Mine had a set of crager super sport wheels , red with a 351 modified engine. Ford claimed the 351 modified was equivalent to a 400 engine . Most were 351 Cleveland and a few with 351 Windsor motors . I sold it to a friend and it got t-boned in a crash. The car only had 60 k original miles . A cool old car . Thanks Guys

I had the twin to that car! I was shocked when my father brought it home from the dealership. My dad was a suit and tie business man and that Torino was a tire chirping butt hauler. As I recall that was Fiesta Red and it was powered by a 351 Cleveland. It was a west coast car so rust was not an issue but light rain and starting from a stop light required some degree of pedaling.

When I was a teenager my first car was a 1973 Ford Gran Torino 2 door car similar to your Torino. But mine was a 1973 model. It was a year newer with the bigger bumper on the front end. I can tell that your Tornio has the 351 V8 engine... either a Windsor or a Cleveland. Most Torino's came with the 351 V8 engine... but some had the 302 V8 and there was some that had a 6-cylinder engine. I think with a little TLC and some effort you could bring your Torino back to life. You just need to assess the damages to the parts and wiring and replace the damaged parts and wiring and do some mechanical work to get the engine running again. It would make an awesome restoration project

Color appears to be Ford 2B bright red. My 1973 Torino coupe has the same original color. The best thing you can do for this car is to replace the wheels/tires with something more than the 14" x 5.5" steelies and those tiny tires. Combine that with a brake upgrade, new shocks, and a rear sway bar, and you will have a car that handles well. In stock condition it is an accident waiting to happen.

I believe in 1965 It was called Rangoon Red. My grandmother had a 65 Galaxie 500 XL Convertible that color Red with red interior and a white top. My dad had ordered 1963 Galaxie 500 XL Convertible, Rose Beige, black bucket seats and a console & black top, 390ci police interceptor package & a 4-speed. My moms brother liked dads car so much he got a Pagoda Green 64 Galaxie 500 XL fastback with white bucket seats and a console. My dads mom liked his car too and got her red Ford in 65. My Grandpa was a Chevy man and refused to to let her park her car in the garage next to Impala! He also made her Pay for her Ford with her own money because it wasn't a Chevy, He would have bought a new Chevy for her. I think that is why she got a bright red one so it would stand out in the driveway... Grandpa always had earth tone colors never flashy cars. Its what they call being passive aggressive.
