I wouldn’t show my face either if I was that “investor”. I mean, if you buy something as an investment, that’s the worst way to do it imaginable!!

In 1981 I had factory ordered a Chevelle Malibu with a bunch of options. After 5 months waiting my cousin convinced me to buy a Japanese car (yea, an oddity in those days). I went and bought a 5 speed Toyota Celica. One problem; I couldn’t drive stick. My father in law had to come get me and drive it home……

Fellow car collector here. I never really understand the investment part of owning cars. They very rarely make money. The original sticker price for this car back in 78 would’ve been around $14,000, around $70,000 in today’s money. Thats before the owner doles out cash to replace all the decomposed parts like dried gaskets and wiring. There have been a handful of 78 Corvette Pace cars that have broken that price at Mecum. Both have fewer miles than this example. Overall, it's likely a loss and a missed opportunity to drive a fantastic car when new. Buying a car and hoping it goes up in value is another form of gambling. Everybody needs to get out and enjoy their rides. If you want to make money real estate would have been a better way to go instead of buying three corvettes.

the engine trans and all rubber components potentially shot and need old fluids out. you gotta drive them, keep things moving especially in non climate controlled garage! I'd give 18K max. got another 10 to 15 to get correct.
