So it's been a while I am officially a... VET STUDENT 💜💜💜 My story is that I was an architect student for 2 years because my parents wanted that for me and I was kinda lost so I went with it but very early on I knew I wasn't happy and the only thing that would actually help my mental health was watching veterinary medicine videos on every platform 😅 So I'm so proud to say I'm officially a vet student 💜💜💜 your videos really inspired me and helped me hope you have a wonderful career

Hey Amanda! I really appreciate the openness & vulnerability in this video. I’m currently a second-year vet student & I have a tendency of getting overwhelmed even thinking about what the future looks like as an actual veterinarian. Thanks for showing that change isn’t easy, but (hopefully) is worth the growing pains. Looking forward to more videos! :)

What an exciting time for you!! I'm so glad to hear it's going... as well as it can be. Questions for the Q&A: - What have been your biggest takeaways from learning to communicate with clients, especially when you have a case you feel uncertain about? - What is one or more cases that have really challenged you, and why? - What is a gap you've identified in your education/what do you wish you would have been taught or spent more time on? - What's something you're doing to maintain a good work-life balance right now?

Congratulations on transitioning your life to being a veterinarian! :) I'm a second-year vet student and the time seems to already be flying by. It's actually scaring me a little bit because I don't feel prepared to be a vet yet (honestly, I don't know when I will start to feel prepared) and I'm already going to be practicing doing surgeries next term. What do you wish you could have told yourself or to others in similar positions starting out as a new grad vet? What was the most challenging aspect to transition to vet life vs. vet student life? What is something that surprised you to find out that you actually love doing as a vet, but didn't know as a student or didn't enjoy the subject in school?

@yourvetamanda6 ай бұрын
@@empresseternity1 for Canadian/US vet schools there are certain prerequisite courses you need to apply to vet school. One of those courses is a statistics course so some level of math there! Also I found some of my sciences courses also had basic math in them! You don’t need to be fantastic at math but you definitely need a baseline!

Thank you for sharing I have been contemplateing vet school as I finish my undergrad. Having to preform euthinasia is whats stopping me. It goes again so many of my personal beliefs and messes with my role in nature. How does one find the positive in doing this? Even human doctors don't do this so I feel in a way they don't have to live with that guilt. I struggle a lot with it.

Just saying that G.P. work can wear you down after a while. Good luck!😊

I have a question for your Q&A! As a new grad vet and how open you were about euthanasia, it made me think about my own fur babies. I have 2 dogs with Megaesophagus (same litter) and one of them I’ve been noticing is slowly declining. My question is, how should I go about approaching this with our vet? It’s hard enough knowing they’ll leave us eventually but I can’t seem to bring myself to book the appointment even though I know my dog is in pain. Any advice?
