As a solo female traveler, I hope you have some form of personal protection for when you’re parked in remote areas and while hiking. And I would suggest keeping your key fob inside a Faraday pouch/bag; it’s a key fob protector that blocks RFID signals. I just want you to have safe travels.😊

This week marks a year that Ive been living in my Iron Horse . Purchased in Alabama last October I’ve been in at least 12 states and Canada 🇨🇦 spending the last 4 months on my Northern route. I found that there is definitely a learning curve when one embarks on living a Nomadic life style. I would say the most important lesson for me is a higher level of awareness of your immediate environment ..taking extra precautions at gas/travel stops (being followed) and in places you want to park for the night , especially if you are en route or it’s getting dark and you want to hunker down for the night. I’ve left two areas where I was solo camped and drug dealers came and parked behind me turning off their lights . I also pack a fire arm and know how to use it.

MOST campgrounds that have a faucet indicated as potable water pretty much expect people to be filling up their tanks, IF IT IS NOT MARKED with a sign saying not to. And the trash on the ground by camping slobs is why so many places where you use to be able to pull over at night to sleep a few hours before continuing are now marked as illegal to park overnight. The trash gets very deep and so many times piles of human fesses is left on the ground to cause the areas to be shut down to overnighters.

Hi Elisa, it has been fun watching the build process of your van. And ofcourse your ultimate payoff of now enjoying it for travels. It looks very comfortable for sure. I just got back to Virginia from a couple months up north. During which time I ultimately decided to stop work on the one I have to save for a winnebago Era or Roadtrek 210. Just for a more comfortable use during longer travels, to have the comfort of the shower and bath like yours. And a couple other perks. Although I think I will eventually finish this one in the future. If you are open to it, I will take you out to lunch when you are on your way back down from Maine. I'm not far off of 95 in Suffolk, and will probably be here for a few weeks. It would be fun to see your rig, and you could see my current project. I would need a way to get you a number and address though. But whether or not you decide to stop I have enjoyed watching and seeing what you went through to build out your van. Have an amazing and blessed day.
