@@beboy19 I’ve just had my 2nd baby, she’s 6 days old today and my eldest is 3. I was an anxious wreck with my 1st baby and suffered post natal depression, but this time around it’s completely different. You’ve done it all before, and you’ll be amazed at how you manage the 2nd time around. It’s exhausting but trust me, you’ll get right back in to that newborn groove in no time. And remember, the long night feeds and early wakings are over so quickly, so don’t dwell on the shitty bits and soak up all the good bits, because it goes by in a flash.

You said you don’t put her in the carrier “because I’m afraid she will die on my chest” and then I felt seen. Thank you- I know you are exhausted in these videos. WOW. On tandem feeding- I weaned my first bc my supply dropped in pregnancy. He only nurses for comfort now, but I do plan on bringing him in to help my milk supply and plan on tandem feeding them unless it gets to be too much. I feel that this may help us in the transition, for comfort and connection with my first. I was also devastated that my supply cut out due to being pregnant again- I wanted to feed him forever and now just bask in our moments of him comfort sucking. The note on milk confusion makes sense, but I would venture to say if we are making antibodies for one child, it'll benefit both.

@austenmidland70344 жыл бұрын
@@EveChantelle16 Nipple confusion happens in a very, very small percentage of babies. Most pediatricians don't see a case during their careers. I was shocked to learn this from my OB during my current pregnancy! I always thought it would cause confusion too and waited a couple of months with our first.
@jodiemitchell26864 жыл бұрын
I don't think nipple confusion is a thing either. Feeding baby a bottle in a slow paced way helps baby not get frustrated at the breast if the milk doesn't come as quick and easily as a bottle. I have heard though that when you are first breastfeeding and building up a supply, breastfeeding or pumping in the night is crucial to boosting supply and keeping it up, due to hormones released at that time. So if you are going to feed a bottle in the night, you may still have to wake once to pump or do one feed to keep up supply, which is still better than multiple wakes in my opinion! Some women won't experience issues, but others might, so just putting this out there.

I have a twin sister and my mother explained to me how she put us in the car when we were babies: she put one child in the car seat and one in the baby carrier while inside. Then she would go to the car where the other baby seat was already there. So you only have to carry one baby seat (which are pretty heavy with a baby inside!) and strap the other child in when you're at the car. If you're more comfortable carrying your one year old in a carrier, I would opt to carry the newborn in the car seat and put the older child in their seat once at the car. Hope that helps!

Jess, you are so encouraging...Thank you for being real. I am so thankful for your wisdom of the importance of quality time with your kids, not quantity. I so needed that. It is so important to be intentional, even if its just 5 minutes. It makes all the difference. And thank you so much for your encouragement about formula. I needed to hear that today! I had a sweet baby 8 weeks ago. She was 4 weeks early and only in the NICU a few days, but she has had some pretty rough digestive issues, including some bad choking spells because her reflux is so bad. We tried several things with my breastmilk to help her, but what has helped her the most far above everything else is a hypoallergenic formula. Even though I KNOW this is what is helping her and making her more comfortable and a more happy baby, I have felt "less than" for stopping breastfeeding. Anyway, I needed your encouragement. I just love how honest and real you are! It makes me feel so normal! Haha I'm about to have my 2nd mid January and I'm already getting nervous on how I'm going to manage my 20month old and my newborn. Thanks for all your encouragement!

I haven't had my 2nd yet, I'm due on the 26.. I'm soooo glad I had to wean my son too bc of premature labor, he's also on a 7pm to 7am schedule! Glad I have that down, I'm sure that is going to make things easy for me!

Yes skip it and do your favourite takeout!! Just do whatever makes you the happiest and least stressed. There will be many traditional holidays to come. Thanks for the videos! I'm just coming out of the blur as my third babe is 3 years old and it's getting so much easier. My best advice is just do the least amount possible LOL.

I am 7 wks with our 2nd and if baby is born on time will be 16 months apart too. I love your point about the anticipation of the activity being more stressful than anything else.

The anticapations of the moments versus the moments themselves. That is well said. But I still dont enjoy the moments...they are stresful.

Uummmm…… over one year later and the state of our world is in the exact same place 😩 it has not gotten easier and we have not and may not ever get through it! Sorry looking at the date this was posted made me sad. I love your honesty about this rather than showing just happy/easy put together mama.

Leaving the house with 2 babies, what worked for me: getting really good at wearing a baby on my back. They have to be able to sit unassisted, so in your case your one year old. I followed youtube videos to practice at home until I felt good at it. It comes in handy all the time! When I need hands for one but the other one wants up, putting one to sleeping while knowing the other one won't destroy the house, walking out to the car, even shopping with the other one in a stroller or in a shopping cart. (I would also wear the second baby on my chest often, but no need to be that extra 😂)

You should try a Mockingbird stroller! Mostly because it’s a less expensive option than the Uppababy Vista. Also, it’s an internet sales company and not for nothing, but they might subsidize your sale for an honest review or how I use this video. No problem in supporting your family while searching for a solution to a problem you have 🤷🏻♀️ I am 7 months pregnant with a 13 month old and I would watch the heck out of that video.
