Good going - a cracking spot to camp. Ah, peace away from the crowds - any sensible person would do the same. I was up in the Black Mountains a few days ago camping - minus 5 in Abergavenny and I was up at 500 meters. So, yeah nearly lost my balls. Ha ha! Looked like you were kitted out well mind you. Well, a nice misty start there. All the best. Mark (Hereford)

Thank you, Mark, Yes, it's definitely wise to avoid the crowds, the quieter the better. I'm hoping to get up the Black Mountains for a camp soon, I love how remote it is up there. Awesome video mate, any tips on putting up a ten in windy conditions?
@wildaboutwalesАй бұрын
Thank you, mate. If pitching in the wind, I try to find a natural windbreak/shelter or stay off high ground. Always peg the tent down straight away, using longer pegs if possible and place them at a 45° angle. Face the narrowest end of the tent towards the wind so the main surface area of your tent is not exposed to the wind. Use all your guylines, ensuring they're firm but not too tight; you can also carry spare guylines with you and use them if you have to pitch in windy conditions. And have a back up plan in case it gets too bad and you have to move your tent. Hope that helps, pal.
