Now that we have a tent and a sleeping bag, can we also get some reviews / recommendations on ground pads? Sadly not every terrain offer such cozy moss patches. Also, another thing to consider: how easy can these tents be deployed during rainy conditions?
@MoorlanderEDC7 ай бұрын
😆 Mother nature definitely played a blinder with the moss bed. Leave it with me, I'm sure I can make some content for less comfortable ground I haven't put this up in the rain however I did take it down in wind and rain. It's as you'd expect however not as difficult as some others. The poles are very easy to get in and out. Once you have a corner anchored down the rest fall into place. I released a Short and a regular viewer lives in the Outer Hebrides and he mentioned he's used his on some pretty extreme conditions with no issues what so ever. He also suggested a tarp over the top which helps too

Yep agree with the above, be interesting to get some reviews on things like ground pads.

Love my Ionosphere, brilliant in bad weather, I've used mine in a yellow warning storm and kept me , I hate to say it, snug! I have a few bits of theirs, for example the jungle blanket, jungle bag and their poncho. But the thing that really impresses me and rarely mentioned is the Antarctic Blanket. It really doesn't look much but it really is incredibly warm. Actually forgot i also have their Endurance 40lt rucksack which is really tough and comfortable to wear.

Great content as usual buddy. Looks nice and cosy in there. I agree with another comment, we're not all luck enough to sleep on soft ground. Would love to see more ground pads/sleeping mats. Keep up the great work

Great vid - thanks! I'm a huge fan of Snugpak, but I struggle to understand what bivi tents are for. For me, the benefit of a tent is space and the benefit of a bivi is instant setup.
@MoorlanderEDC7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. The bivvy tent is more shelter to protect you and your gear, plus have as small profile as possible. Keeping it light and small

Cracking video Mate . I find thar sleeping bags are usually are not wide enough for my physical size . I am 6ft 2in tall with a 63 in chest not including my arms . I can just say get into the ionosphere but I chose not to get it incase and would more than likely damage the tent . So I usually use a tarp and still looking for that elusive one man tent that is discreet but can take my size plus a German shepherd. Cheers Mate for your sharing your adventures.

You're more than welcome my friend. You're a walking God amongst mortals. I can see why you'd struggle. They do make an additional section you can zip into the bag however I think you'd need a few. My whippet fits in perfectly with me however he's nesh so would rather be at home under a heavy quilt 😂 thanks for watching, hopefully I'll share more adventures this year

I like my Snugpak stuff (except little too tiny compression stuff sack for sleeping bag) I prefer the special force for the sleeping bag than the softie serie (for the central zip)

What a great vid. I came across your video as I'm looking at saving up to get the Ionosphere tent and also a new sleeping bag. I'm impressed so time to save up (Or look out for a competition LOL). Seems like the Softie elite 2 would be best for me as I the temperature Rating Low is -3°C / 27°F. I'm only camping in the UK Spring to early autumn & a warm sleeper. (Unless I'm wrong on the rating)
@MoorlanderEDC7 ай бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I definitely welcome the competition for sure. The more content out there from UK creators the better it is for the whole community. If you start up a channel and want some advice I'd happily help out. I run really hot when I sleep. The 2 is great all round year bag. I've been down to -3 in the Softie 3 and it was warm and comfortable
@BimbleWithBruce7 ай бұрын
@@MoorlanderEDC Thank you kindly! I feel the UK needs more creators and make the community more versatile. I wouldn't put myself as competition on here. I thought it would be nice to share my adventures. I have tried to do a KZbin but since I lost my job, I'm lacking funds to get the rest of the stuff I need. Mainly Video recording equipment and a few other bits of gear too. I tried doing it on my phone but the battery dies so quick, it's not really a good idea due to needing my phone for the more obvious. Hopefully I can get back on it soon.

@@BimbleWithBruce yep, the Yous Tubes are a marathon rather than a sprint. After a you hit the threshold for monitisation it opens up doors. Getting more similar creators out there is a win win 🤙
@BimbleWithBruce7 ай бұрын
@@MoorlanderEDC I agree and I am a very long way off to that threshold for monetisation. Once I get my equipment then I can do more and just have fun in doing what I do. I think I'm doing ok so far but all in good time

I do not trust the Chinese-made Snugpack Ionosphere ones quite frankly. Lol! I will either go for the UK or the USA-made ones when it comes to quality.
@MoorlanderEDC3 ай бұрын
I haven't had any issues with this one. Used it several times so far. Luckily, Snugpak have that option where you can choose either the imported versions or the UK made model
@timothygourley56907 ай бұрын
Could you combine two different bags to make a year round sleep system like the British army sleep system???
@MoorlanderEDC7 ай бұрын
Hmmmmmm... Great question. I'm going to say 'probably not'. The zip is either on the left or the right. You could maybe zip two together however you'd have a Siamese conjoined sleeping bag that would be twice the size. I'll Ask Snugpak if they have a similar solution and come back to you
@timothygourley56907 ай бұрын
@@MoorlanderEDC thank you, Your engagement and effort you make with us (subscribers) is brilliant thank you. Snugpak used to do a sleep system called Tactical Sleep System but unfortunately they don't seem to make it anymore, I would get the Special Forces Sleep System but can't get on with centre zips

Did they send you the Snugpack Journeymen tent? I ask as it looks identical to the Ionosphere but it's 500 gram heavier, much cheaper,in this same colour and other colours.I just wonder what the differences are..?

We'll have none of that here on Moorlander EDC 😂😂😂 Strictly speaking as the 624th Crowned Monarch of the Kingdom of the Moorlands it's all my back yard... so to speak. I'll definitely do more of these. I've been trying to get out more and more as the channel grows and if this content is enjoyed my the masses I'll definitely do more. With the Moorlands and Peaks right on the doorstep of Castle Moorlander it's a no brainer. Next one will be up at the Roaches for sure

Everybody and their mother is pushing this tent, and tarps and all kinds of things that are heavier than an MSR 1 that is lighter and has more room. These things are a joke. Keep selling the stock.
@MoorlanderEDC17 күн бұрын
MY channel generally is around outdoor gear, clothing, bags etc. I'm reasonably new to making content on tents and tarps (although I've used them before when not making content). I'd been working with Snugpak on some other gear and they asked if I'd like to try this. No ulterior motive other than my buddy on Max LVL EDC had made some similar content and I thought it would be fun. I haven't tried the MSR1. I'll look at picking one up to see how it compared. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed the content and will consider checking out some of the other videos. All the best
