Benita...I just wanted to say what an inspiration and motivator you are. Every time I finish one of your videos, I think, "Stop your (me) procrastinating and just DO it. Benita wouldn't put it off.. and if she did...she would be working on something else that needs to be done!" You obviously know how to channel your inner, much nicer Martha. When I see what you have accomplished over the years (I've been around since the early Chez Larsson days), I realize I have no excuses...and I thank you for that. When it comes to our homes, no matter what our styles are, we can always ask ourselves, "What would Benita do?" The answer always is..."She would get it done!!!"

One thing I really admire is how you add little touches of prettiness to the rooms even if they're not finished. We live in a 1910 house that requires continual upkeep (as well as long term projects) but your house reminds me to not just look at the things that need to be completed, but to look at the loveliness that already exists and to not give into discouragement when I look at the "Big List of Projects."

Such a lovely home you are restoring, Benita. Here in North America, old paint is lead paint. I’m glad that you don’t have to deal with paint toxins in Sweden. Looking forward to the next set of improvements! Would it be a good thing to save some of the wallpapers and frame pieces of them? How nice of you to share all the updates, it’s so interesting to see your discoveries and how priorities and plans change over time. Do you consider the new wood on the lower part of the exterior a temporary or permanent fix? It’s a very cost effective way to take care of the exterior, regardless 😊 I’m quite fond of «this will do us and the house well for many years, until it’s time to tackle the bigger thing». It’s so calming and wholesome. I’m gathering inspiration and ideas from you for our renovating projects. We have a 1930s cabin in the woods, and a small 17-1800s small timber farmhouse as our main home. The cabin is in most urgent need of renovation, but as we live in the farmhouse with 1990s interior «upgrades» and room changes… let’s just say my fingers itch to start the «putting things right» process. Looking forward to following along next season!

Lovely house and you are really making progress and have done so much. It looks cozy even if a lot of work to be done. Love it, can’t wait to see how you progress next season. Thank you for this tour, it was great.

Benita, it’s beautiful. I love how you take your time and update everything with so much care and thoughtfulness. The space feels lovely already and I can’t wait to see what you do next. I think removing the wallpapers will make such a big change and make the rooms feel much bigger and brighter. It would be nice to preserve some pieces and frame them maybe? 😘
