I’m looking to be a special education teacher but I’m so lost I’m finding a program or school in general. I’m dyslexic and was in special classes all through elementary because I struggled so bad! It’s slowly becoming a passion and I want to learn everything I’m just scared I won’t be able to accomplish it

Wow, very good! It's okay to be scared at first. I believe you'll have courage to achieve everything you want. May all your dreams come true ☺️❤

Im looking to do this and going to college this year. Do you make more than a regular teacher? Is this worth it?
@divingintosped65682 жыл бұрын
If you have to ask if it’s worth it, it may not be for you. Being a teacher is worth it. Being a special education teacher is worth it. Whatever “it” may be.

If you are rich it’s ok . If you are not , salary will not be enough to pay your bills 😔

Sped teachers make anywhere from $500-$2,000 more than a gened teacher. Look up any public school teacher salary and you will see how much the schools in your area make. For texas, our state minimum teacher salary is 33k but the areas around me pay 60k starter and goes up for every year of experience you have.

the term sped is very rude.

it depends on the context. I’m a SpEd teacher and I use it as a shortened version of special education. It’s not being said in a derogatory way at all.
