Your honesty about your first year are so refreshing. This is my second year. First year was math resource 6th grade, this year is pre ocs 6-8. My first year was very similar!

Sis! I needed this video like 2 years ago! Or at least in August. Lol. Thank you for explaining how you manage to hit all students goals and maintain them. That’s the part I’ve really needed help figuring out. I’d also like to know how you manage teaching the general curriculum lessons in whole group with multiple grades?

Hi! Yes that's much like how I feel!! I'm a new sped resource 3-5 teacher and need any tips 😂
@LivingDead53 Жыл бұрын
Ours didn't. They were always experimenting on us as well. I was put into multi-age, too. I enjoyed the massive amount of packet work we got and testing. I had issues with basic math and basic reading due to some whatever until High School, second year when I took an IQ test. It took me 6 years to learn to read. Apparently, that was pointless. You would, you would? I had to relearn a lot of skills. I have a joke for Madonna. The real issues hid in my shadow. I would like to thank this teacher for being kind and caring. I will say that it's important to keep it simple, things that we will need and remember not 80 pages of, "See spot Run, See Spot go." Our teachers, regular teachers, were horrible to us. Special ed teachers often pass the kids along. This is why my grades were normal for so long. I could fail, but many children weren't allowed to fail. Another problem is that we're put on the college route. I have an associate, but I can't do many classes at a time anymore. I'll never get a job due to social problems and discrimination. I do take classes from a local community college, just finished a quiz in History and at least didn't miss the multiple choice. I have a lot of intrusions in my thoughts and severe memory problems. I'm also completely crushed by my life. And you have to protect special students because we attract predators like nothing else. I laugh and say, sneaky, sneaky.

Hello! Your video was very informative and touch important areas. As a Special-ed teacher 21 years + with CPS , I can relate to how you implement IEP Goals with their one on one instruction and how you would do a whole group activity on their Reading, Math, Writing and subjects coincide with the different levels they are on and then work with each of the students one on one on their IEP objectives in their folders. I will keep data on their Mastery on their IEP goals.

Great Vlog and very informative!!! I teach a SDC Tk-1st. I'm so lucky that most of my students have similar goals and we only work in small groups. I divided my class into 3 different levels since they can't work independently yet 😬😬😬. Each of them have a binder with their goals, work sample, and data collected. Keep doing these types of videos. I don't see lots of SPED KZbinrs.

What grade levels do you teach? I’m looking and had offers for classes with k-6 students but I don’t know how to manage with a lot of them also going out with an instructional assistant for inclusion. This sounds good but there’s a lot of variables that determines if it’ll work. Do you agree. If you don’t mind sharing, how do you go it?

Amazing. I have been teaching for 20 plus years and all teachers need this for maintaining. I am thinking of how to use this process in my music classroom where we are on so many different levels at so many different times. How do you balance your work and home time?

Love your videos! Wish I had found them earlier. Question about IEP bins, is this what you do one on one for data with student or they work on these independently? I have several behaviors and shortened schedules who only come a few hours a week (some morning students only and some afternoon only mixed with all day students🤪) so trying to figure out a way to fit everything in for everyone.

Hi, I am so glad to see a new post! Love your vlogs and content. About a year ago, I feel like you highlighted a grocery store concept/unit, but I am rewatching lots of vlogs and am not finding what I remember- am I imagining things? If possible could you tell me which vlog? I am starting to plan the beginning of our year ( starts in July) and would like to incorporate the “store” for my new middle school self contained classroom. Thanks so much!
@aliciaherpick6422 жыл бұрын
finally found it----Oct 3! Grocery store, very helpful and inspiring- I moved from preschool-K to middle school for students who are severely multiply impaired, so life skills is where it is at for next year! We start in July so I need to get a planning! I know filming is laborious, but I appreciate all your content.
