Great video Adam, thanks for all the hard work you put in to creating and sharing those inspiring videos! You're the one that got me into landscape photography and several years later you're still my top source of inspiration!

In photography I think sometimes we over annualize just about anything and everything. As photographers we should stop worrying about those thing that are beyond our control. The weather is the weather rain or shine, there will always be another day, there will always be something to inspire us to do something. And sometimes, nothing is an answer. I enjoy your videos and have found a lot of inspiration in what you do. Cheers.

Yes to every point. Especially when juggling making film about your passion. I often am blinded by the destination - particularly on my way back to the car. Thank you for another great video Adam.

the one at 14:58 is really nice often the sky is the most photogenic/colourful/detailed part of a scene and the best way to get a good photo is to make use of it and bring its detail out

Very relatable, thanks! What really helps me during the hike is the use of walking poles. Especially going up and down the hills.

We all make mistakes but as long as we learn from them, we will improve. The important thing is to enjoy the process then it's just one of those things if we don't get THAT shot. I just enjoy being there and will always have my memories.

Well done Adam, as a slightly unfit, portly 61 year old I feel your pain! however I am working on it! You definitely had a good photography day, as mentioned below pic at 14:57 is lovely, and I think there is a good still to be clipped from the B roll of you in silhouette at 19:46 ish, thanks for keeping going, best wishes Derek

I got into photography through my love of hiking. I always try and remember that if the photography doesn’t go how I’d hoped. Looks like you still had a great day with some stunning views and you also identified some potential future images too so it looks like a successful day to me Adam. Thanks for sharing it with us as the drone footage was fabulous 👍

You really told it how it is in this video. I have done, or failed to do, some of the very same things you mention. I don't worry much about technique, because it is what I am seeing and feeling that I am photographing., so I just go with the flow. Good video Adam!

Was in a similar position last year, fitness had slipped after breaking an ankle and the weight piled on. Went up to the lakes with some mates and struggled with all my photography kit on my back. Got home and knew I had to get it sorted, so ended up buying a Zwift smart trainer and a cheap second hand decathlon road bike and got stuck in. I’ve lost 5 stone and am extremely fit now…. I just chuck a pod cast on and do a workout on Zwift or a race for an hour 5 times a week and I’m still loving it! It’s hard work but well worth it…. Only downside is having to buy a whole new set of clothes!
@Firstmanphotography4 күн бұрын
Thats an impressive level of focus and dedication. Well done, mate. The clothing issue is a nice problem to have.

I envy you brits ability to hike just about anywhere... lake district, peak district, ... so much land here in the states is private... you just can't go anywhere you want. I too need to just slow down. I don't typically fail to enjoy it... but my enjoyment is peppered with worry that the experience will be far too short. Very much enjoy your channel for years now Adam. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers from Texas.
@Firstmanphotography3 күн бұрын
Hi Robert, love hearing from the good people of Texas. I film the vast majority of my videos in places where there is a decent amount of access to open land. Unfortunately, the majority of England is not like this.....for example many counties that border London have less the 5% of the land accessible to the public. Its basically just the roads, some pathways and a few parks. Scotland is much much better and i need to get up there again soon.

Nice photos mate! My weight jumps up and down as well. I find it so difficult to lose weight. Even running 10 miles a week, I just can't lose it. I don't like dieting. Mentally it affects me in a negative way. Cheers!

Adam, I hear you. I have backpacked with photography gear and it is a torture every time. But I have taken photos I have not seen elsewhere. Also, what is up with the metric and imperial system? You use kilos but then talk about foot and mile. Haha! To be honest, I am shocked you did not get a photo of the lake with the snow-capped mountain and the clouds and sun shining on the lake in the middle of the day. It was a beautiful scene. I am personally not a fan of shooting sunsets in this type of scene because the shadow that the tall mountains create really destroys the beauty of the shot and dynamic range.

Hey Adam . . . Thanks from Canada once again. I would think that it would be almost impossible to be truly creative while shooting a video at the same time. The video is a major distraction. That's why I never do photography with others. They are too much of a distraction. I really believe that you need solitude and zero distractions to connect to your creative spirit. What about a video where you don't talk until your day is over? I know it sounds weird but . . . Anyhow.... All the best.
@Firstmanphotography3 күн бұрын
After so many years, I definitely have a workflow that mostly works for me. However, your idea is something i have been thinking about and will definitely do it at some point. Possibly in the spring and camp at the same time

Nah, your final mistake of the day was coming off King's How on that path 😂 Up is fine but the best way off is down the front! Ask Mali about the back path 😂
@Firstmanphotography4 күн бұрын
Yeah, i should have done that. I'm just less familiar with the other one. Is that going past the Bowder Stone?
@Twa-Dags4 күн бұрын
@Firstmanphotography yeah, there are actually two routes down the front, the best one brings you down to the road and about 50 to 100 yards further along is the path up to the Bowderstone. The front path also has the advantage of being in the light longer.
@Twa-Dags4 күн бұрын
@Firstmanphotography if you look on the os map, the path you want starts at eelstep brow. It's actually a really nice route, with arguably the best views.
