Quite funny watching this from the UK, i do most of my climbs with nuts and hexes alone, this guy is pretty much climbing it all on cams !

I would add tri-cams and some large hexes to my "basic" rack long before I bought a full range of cams! (Especially for places like the Gunks or similar areas with varied placements). Most new leaders probably won't be (or shouldn't be) on particularly difficult climbs, and it is worth spending time learning how to place passive pro before you start (quickly and/or blindly) plugging in cams. It is a lot cheaper to build your initial rack this way too!

Hey man I know this was posted ages ago, but I do most of my climbing in the Squamish area. I’m looking to climb diedre, banana peel, skywalker and spirit of Squamish this season. From the videos I’ve watched it seems like the apron climbs are pretty heavy on smaller pro, can you confirm this? I’ve got doubles down to a .3 z4 and I imagine I can probably just place nuts for anything smaller than that.. what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance man :)
