Dutch cops brought bulldozers to clear out pro-Palestine protest encampments at the Amsterdam University as students across Europe joined their American peers in condemning Israel. Protest camps have been set up in the UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium. Protesting students are asking their colleges to divest from Israel, much like in the US.Police officers in some of these countries have used force to clear the protest sites and remove students who occupied public spaces. But if crackdowns did not work in the US, why would they work in Europe? What will be the long-term impact of these cross-continental student protests? Palki Sharma tells you.

Once Palestine issues are resolved, l fear with a little bit of prompting decisive elements will be stirring up problems in other countries.
