Germany: Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz See Plant Closures, Layoffs | Firstpost America
Germany, Europe's economic powerhouse, is facing turbulent times. Its iconic auto industry, home to giants like Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, is reeling from massive layoffs, factory closures, and declining profits. Once the cornerstone of Germany's economy, the sector now struggles to adapt to the global shift toward electric vehicles and renewable energy. Outdated business models, soaring energy costs, and geopolitical tensions with Russia and China have only added to the turmoil. As industrial production lags behind pre-pandemic levels, the ripple effects are being felt worldwide. This crisis raises urgent questions about Germany’s future as an industrial leader and its ability to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing global economy.

I think this vid doesn’t hit the mark. BMW and Mercedes sell well with traditional engines, it is the EV gamble that is not working. Volkswagens problem is that they were seen as the ordinary persons car (the name means that in German) but has got so expensive that no ordinary person can afford it. The bestselling car in EU right now is the Dacia, a Romanian produced car owned by French Renault, a car selling from €10k and up. That is what ordinary people can afford today.

@talhamurs3279
@talhamurs3279 4 күн бұрын
@didierpuzenat7280 I suggest you look into the statistics, you will realise that they only people buying EVs are company/fleet leased on 3 years contract, through govt backed subsidies. The depreciation value after 24 months is 40-50%. This is why people are avoiding buying a USD60k EV only to find out its worth USD25-30k after 24 months. A lot of manufacturers are rethinking their 2030 goals. Tesla cars are sitting in disused supermarket parking lots due to low demands. Similar case in China but the govt there subsidies manufacturers heavily. Mercedes are rethinking the future of their EQ marquee. Then there ks the issue of EV batteries blowing up and catching fire. EV hild a maximum market share of about 30% by 2035. The future is hybrid and PHEV, and possibly synthetic fuel cars that use conventional engine. So I strongly suggest you study the statistics and come out of your fantasy land before it's too late.
@didierpuzenat7280
@didierpuzenat7280 4 күн бұрын
@@talhamurs3279 Sorry but cars only depreciate if you buy them as fashion products. As many people, I keep my cars till they die or till my needs radically change (eg 3 kids and 2 seats at the back) so no depreciation for me. And hybrids and PHEV are not the solution, too little too late. And fuel based on biomass is a scam, just a greenwashing strategy since too many industries promote them, eg aviation with SAF, while in the future even food will be an issue. And sure, EV battery fires 🙄, compared to what ? Petrol cars fires are quite more probable, and it is worse for hybrids, and even worse for PHEV. Anyway, the only way to reach net zero is to switch to EVs, and of course also not to use or even own a car at all eg in cities at least in Europe. In 2025 almost nobody will own a car in most European cities. BTW, the main issue of VW is the competition of EVs, in China and also in Europe. Everybody knows that the ICE is dead, even with magical "synthetic fuel".

Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face looses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies.

I am german, and i am also very up to date on EV's. EV's are basically computers on wheels with a battery. Gas cars require much engineering, patents and design to distinctly stay ahead of the competition. The German car companies were great in this respect. But with EV's all those advantages are fading as the technology has shifted. Its similar to Kodak and their film technology advantage for making pictures. Digital cameras came along and Kodak became obsolete. EV's are doing the same to the whole automotive industry.
