Former US president Donald Trump's reported phone call with Saudi Arabia's Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has triggered speculation. While the content of the conversation is yet to be disclosed, Trump and MBS shared extremely close relations during the last US administration. The Trump family has multiple business dealings with the Saudi royal family, including a $2 billion investment by the kingdom's sovereign fund in Jared Kushner's firm. Trump's golf courses had also hosted multiple LIV golf tournaments backed by Riyadh. Pres Trump reaching out to MBS is a unique one to give the assurance that America will be there for the Saudis and to build a lasting relationship in the Region.
